I maxed out all specs for a total of 1160.
https://drive.google.co
That's 4k display, 5850U, 48gb ram, "backlit keyboard" WAN LTE card, and card reader!
Took the 128gb ssd, will be swapping for something better!
Make sure you choose the backlit keyboard, it's not obvious that it doesn't include it!
The difference between 32gb ram and 48gb ram was $130, all the 32gb ram modules on amazon were more than $130 so getting it from the factory is a better deal!
(edit found a better deal on ram module than paying lenovo for it).

I will be swapping out the SSD, I am going to put a Samsung 980 Pro 1TB in her!
12 months no interest payments! it's a deal man!
This is arguably the best deal for a Highspec Thinkpad I've seen since Black Friday!
btw make sure you go throu R10 for extra 8% cashback and enable your SD extension!
But its Christmas - so here is a hack to still get this deal from Santa...
I tried and worked - Ofcourse its YMMV
1. On the cart screen, convert the cart to a Quote, you should see the option at the bottom of the screen once signed in
2. Then go to the quote in your account. Convert the quote to a cart.
3. Checkout with the discounted price.
The quote won't work if you try to create it on the checkout screen.
Attached snapshot of a dummy order I made.
Merry Christmas!

I still have two ThinkPads, one X201 from 10+ years ago and one T420 from 9+ years ago. They still work!
It was around $1250 during BF with i7, 32GB RAM and 500 nits screen.
I think 14s is more expensive due to light weight, not quality (compared to T14). They packed a lot into that machine into it.
Anyways can't really go wrong with any of them, but imo and my anecdotal research the winner is T14.
Yes, except the T15 supposedly cools slightly better. I just got a T15. I'd been researching for approx a month. I really wanted a P15, but T15 is 11th gen so better.
It's nice to see that what I suspected about the 14 vs 14s is true! while thinner isn't always better, thinner makes more sense mid-range as you mentioned the cooling isn't up to spec on the 14s vs the 14. This makes sense they likely designed it with the mid-range in mind since that's the model they'd likely sell the most of.
The extra space that the standard 14 affords it seems to make have been beneficial cooling wise as you mentioned. I feel like the standard 14 is likely what more Businesses would opt for as a thinner laptop equals more user broken machines at the cost of their IT dept.
Glad I went with the 14, I'm not afraid of a bit of girth lol, I own 3 high-end gaming laptops as well!

Ideapad was Lenovo's own line, not a continuation of the IBM business. The quality is not the old-school IBM level, but still the best out there in the market today.
Ideapads are also good, but a bit of cointoss.. have seen ideapads last long as well.
Hence, Think = Idea

It's funny that OLED the contrast between the white pixels and black pixels are so bright that it bleeds out a bit. But the color and saturation you have to see in person!
I wished this Lenovo Thinkpad 14 4k panel was OLED, that would be the icing on the cake.
