I bought this a few months ago and it came with a charger with some kind of proprietary connector. I promptly returned if.

If you must have B&D brand, BDCS40BI is a superior model with slightly more rated power, bit set, and USB charging for $5 more.

I prefer this one for $3.50 more. It has more power (4V) and a bit magazine built in which holds 8 bits. Mine holds a charge for a very long time. It's an indispensable tool for light-weight work around the house.

It's worth it to spend a little more and get one with a trigger instead of the top button. Definitely hard to use and only suitable for very light work. I own one of these and it's like 7 years old now and still going strong so not the worst quality

Same price at home depot although I've had terrible results with their shipping- no refunds and nothing sent until I threatened to call my cc company. -Maybe their ship to store is different?

The only reason I'm posting their price is that it was $15.50 but when I entered the page on the app it was $12. But then I changed the store and back to 15.50 and now it won't budge. Maybe someone will have better luck. As for me if it's not at home depot right now or it must be shipped anywhere I'd gladly pay more somewhere else.

edit: got it to $12 but changes to $15.50 in cart.

Do you need it if you already have a drill

I would love to know this as well. I typically use my 12V drill as a screwdriver.

I use my thumb with it sometimes. It's different but for me it feels better to use than a trigger tool.

Got one of these when it was on sale for $10 a couple of years ago and it's super handy. It's small, comfortable to use, good power for basic stuff, and long lasting battery. It's got a proprietary charger but it has not much of an issue because I store both in the same drawer. From time to time I even use it when working on the car, makes removing already loosened nuts and bolts much easier.

I prefer this one, it uses USB for convenience and 5x quicker charging. I have hundreds of bits in my toolbox but I can never find a proprietary charger when needed. This one solves my problem.

Also, this one can hold a hex L-shaped tool, which is very nice if you don't have those bits laying around. Also USB charging.

This has sold for less in the past, correct? I got a negative vote for posting a deal; I was told because the item had sold for less in the past.

Ditto, I have this one as well and it's been a workhorse. Main cons are: proprietary charger (just don't lose/misplace it), no battery strength meter, and doesn't straighten out or have a manual mode. That said it's awesome with super long runtime, built-in multi-bit holder, magnet for temp screw storage, and over had it 4yrs+ with no sign of issues. If the other B+D electric screwdrivers are in the same ballpark, shouldn't be concerned about getting one.

Can't speak to the Hyper Tough. I bought this early December from Home Depot's site for a similar price. I too thought it was too good to pass up for a cheap low powered driver. Unfortunately, I had to return it as soon as I got the chance. It was garbage. I'm guessing the gear/clutch would slip and lock up the driver and it wouldn't engage. It wasn't a power issue, I charged the battery for the 18+ hours per the manual. Not
This wasn't an issue. It's a setting for manual mode lol. User error!

Need? No, but these come in handy for low power assembling/disassembling things. They're much lighter and easier to handle compared to drills.
