Negatives- Broad Starlock compatibility comes at the cost of a post design to secure the blades. Still tool-less, but slower than other Starlock models for swapping blades. Design results in a bulky head (maybe done for better vibration control)
Gross that Amazon can get away with listing such an absurd MSRP to make it look like a bigger discount than what it is. Item hasn't been out for long (released maybe 1-2 months ago) but it's release MSRP was definitely $249.99 and it's been at $200 at both HD and Amazon since release.
Good price but if you don't need it now I imagine we'll start to see it more competitively priced in the $150-$175 range

I am in the same camp, I am still rocking the original one with the Allen key, but even with almost daily use, it still works fine.

Positives - quietest, least vibration of any current oscillating tool models (including Fein, Milwaukee fuel models, and Flex), compatible with all Starlock types, including plus and max, much improved performance from previous Makita models, good balance.

I have friends at work, two brothers, they're literally buying pretty much every new Makita tool. They were trying to sell me this one for a half of the price. The switch gets stuck. Not just stiff but "push with both of your thumbs till your face turns red or it's not budging" stuck
