I love how accurate the air tags are but there are some functions that are missing that wont make me switch to them just yet. Bought 1 couple months ago and compared to the tile it is more accurate and responsive. Somethings I wish they would improve on would be a little louder speaker because i tested them while inside a bag and had to be within 3 feet to hear it. Another function would be the ability to ring your phone with the Air tags. Last function would be to share the air tag with family member on the same family account. With Tile I can ring my wife's tile when I need to find something of hers.

Precision tracking doesn't work on iphone xr or any of the iphone 10. So it lost 70% of the main features.

Thanks for pointing that out, I didn't know that. I was about to get a few AirTags for car keys and airpods. But I have an iPhone X, and a quick Google search shows that feature won't work on my iPhone X.

So, I'll pass on AirTags for now. Until such time as I get a new iPhone that has Precision Finding. Need an iPhone that has a "U1" chip for that to work. Also, found out that no iPad has that chip or feature either.

If you have an older iPhone, check to make sure it is compatible with Precision Finding. Otherwise, all you get is a map that show the generalized last location. So will show I "lost my keys" somewhere in my home. (Which I kind of already know) But not going to pinpoint exactly where they are. Still going to have to tear the house apart looking for the car keys.

No. High end car thieves use these to track a mark home (hide it on the car somewhere) and steal their car. Google is supposed to have an app that will detect a hidden tracker, but I've read they don't work very well.

Even without precision tracking the tracking network it uses is waaaaaaay better than the basic tile tracking due to the amount of apple devices around the world.
