In order to swap cards and avoid re downloading all your games:

1. POWER OFF the switch (not sleep mode, all the way off)
2. Remove SD card, pop in new one
3. Boot system and format SD card
4. Power off again and remove
5. USING A PC, copy all the files from the old SD card to the new one
6. Put new SD into Switch and power on

SD card is worth about $20. Seems like a good deal.

For a single user, it's an alright deal if you need the SD card. $20 is the standard price for an individual online membership so the card would cost $15. Family plan is meant for sharing so you could add on a few folks to take advantage of your online membership and even charge them a few bucks like another SDer suggested.

This doesn't include the expansion pack upgrade which is a separate cost. The upgrade gives you access to all game expansion packs for free in addition to official Sega and N64 emulators.

I wonder if this deal for discounted membership without SD card will be back this year.

One of my friends has a individual online account and is in my family group. If I add this to my account how will it affect his individual account? I am the admin..

brought a Switch during BF and still have the 3 month membership to redeem and also brought a 256GB SD card so my question is can this card be used for other purposes such as in a phone or tablet since it states Nintendo Switch on the card itself? TIA

Buy year long switch online memberships on ebay for $7 this is no deal
Link? Cheapest family membership for 12 months on eBay I found was $30. Anything cheaper is just individual plan or 1-spot invitation into someone else's family plan.

Super noob question. Would this work if I gifted it to a Canadian resident? On a Canadian switch/internet while I'm purchasing in the US? Thanks!

According to Best Buy the SD card is $68… I don't believe that but it means you are making money getting this deal!
That's because it's a Nintendo branded card. You can get the same card from the same company sandisk for around $20 without the Nintendo brand on it.

Yes memory card can be used in any device. It's advertised as a Switch mem card because you want specific read/writes for gaming. Not just any random card. Your membership will stack.

It's a normal SD card with "fancy" casing. You can use it anywhere you can use a 128GB SD card.

The code I received is the individual membership and not the family! Anyone got this issue?

Myself and a friend just bought new switches. I bought the family plan. We both have a family account setup on each switch. It wouldn't allow me to add his account to my family. Is there a way around this?

I do this all the time with Christmas related memberships! They often go down right after. Right now, set an alarm on your calendar to stop or delay the renewal and explain to yourself why. Then just live a week or two without membership and you'll be on a better timeline going forward.
You can just cancel auto renewal on the membership after redeeming it. No need to set a calendar reminder.
