This doesn't include the expansion pack upgrade which is a separate cost. The upgrade gives you access to all game expansion packs for free in addition to official Sega and N64 emulators.

If I buy this promotion how much extra is the expansion pack for family
Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank
Also, can you add this to an already existing family membership with the expansion pack added? If we invite a couple of friends to join the family would they have access to that expansion pack as well?

Second, do BOTH friends need to have the game so they can play each other? They both have Super Mario Kart8, so I know thats going to be played frequently. And if they DONT both own a game, is there a workaround if I get the family plan? For example, if I am at work, can I play Mario Kart with my son if the game disc is in MY Switch but not his. Basically, can we do long distance co-op (on two diff Switches) via the Famly Plan with just one game purchase.
Also, does the online membership have a "Watch me play" feature? Right now my son points his phone at the TV (during a video call) so his friend can watch what he's doing which I think is SO lame. But if they want to watch each other play while not being able to participate, thats on them- who am I to stop this nonsense if they are having fun.
Sorry if these are dumb questions, but I have NEVER played an online game (or had an online membership) despite having a PS4 for two years. Im more into solo games or local co-op.

Whether your son and his friend will both need to have the game they are playing depends a bit. Normally, the answer is yes. However, if you get the Nintendo Switch Online Family Membership (Regular or the Expansion Pass version), you can add his friend to that Membership and make his Switch Console the Primary Switch. In that case, if you have a digital copy of the game they can both play it. His friend will also be able to play any digital game you own without having to know your login info. However, on your Switch Console your son would have to play as you as only the Switch Account that the game is registered to can play it. You could get around this by purchasing the game on his account instead of yours. In that case it would have to be his account on the friend's Switch console. You can change the primary Switch later, but you will need his Switch to do that so there is defiintely a downside to that. This feature is really designed to share in-house with family so that you have access to the Switch consoles.Sign up for a Slickdeals account to remove this ad.
