Thanks, fits the bill for me except for duplex scanningMad How far up the Brother Model line do you need to go for that?

It doesn't accept generic toners. No Deal for me Frown
I don't think that's true. I've used generic toners lots of times and every Brother printer I've ever owned.

Sure it does. Lots of good generic toners available that work well with this printer.

ive used generic toners on around 10 brother printers over the last 10 years after the first included brother starter cartridge. we are holding on to our older brother printers dearly as the replacement 3rd party cartridges are cheap and not chipped. while the newer brother printers will take 3rd party toner cartridges they may have to be chipped.

Have a 10 year old Brother MFC-7860DW. Bought refurbished. Still works great. A $12+ Tp-link wifi range extender makes it works same as a wireless printer.

When I search OD for the model number, it only shows toner. Do you have a link?

No it's not. Code is not valid. Excludes technology.

That said, this price for a refurb is lukewarm at best.

I have this exact printer and have had good luck using the following Greenbox generic toner -
https://amzn.to/34yap0W.

However generic toner is often hit or miss so YMMV.

I've owned a Brother MFC2700D for at least 3 years and used generic toners forever.

I have a similar Brother printer. I ALWAYS get errors whenever I send it a job; have to remove the device and re-add it all the time. PITA like every "at-home" I've ever owned. Maybe I got a lemon, maybe not; just sharing my experience.

Do they ever disable 3rd party toner via firmware update?
