Couldn't find rtings, only on the older version of the monitor at 144hz.

My interpretation here is that you're paying $20-40 more for 165hz vs 144hz? Does that seem correct? I just want 144hz and decent ( >320cd/m^2 actual brightness) so I'm thinking I'd be paying more for something I wouldn't use?

Though the last 27 2k monitor I got from a slickdeal at ~$230 didn't have enough brightness despite advertising 400...

Looks like everyone is rebadging this same IPS screen. The Dell version OP mentioned is officially gsync supported with more color saturation. It does seem folks are saying there's no sRGB control to stop the color saturation so it may appear over saturated. The big reason I would avoid this is the screen coating creating graininess to save eye strain. If you don't like the Dell, MSI seems to be using the same panel with potentially the best implementation MSI Optix G273QF

I've had this monitor for few months and it's ok. It does have pretty good brightness and colors are decent. Apparently its the same panel as the Dell S2721DGF and the LG 27GN800. While not "officially" Gsync supported it does work fine w/Gsync plugged into my nVidia laptop.
