Target currently has the SE on Total Wireless for $250 with a $150 gift card if you activate in store (making the phone essentially $100), but the Tracfone version is $289 with a $140 gift card, making the TF version $150. I thought you could save the additional $50 difference if you were on Tracfone by buying the TW version but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Actually, I just noticed that Thchan said that he had two different screens and the yellower one looked perfect, whIle the less yellow one showed slight scratches (as a used / original one would), so that seems like another indication that the more yellow one would more likely be the replaced screen.
One more experiment to try … pull up a screen of all-black (maybe open a pic of a pure black background) and turn the brightness of the screen all the way up (I'd turn auto brightness and True Tone off for both to avoid possible differences). See if one appears to be a more true black (or brighter edges, unevenness, etc.) I've heard that can sometimes be a clue on aftermarket screens.
actually, i might not be as clear/specific as i should have been, my bad:
1. the yellowish screen has a very minor hairline scratch, but the screen is flushed with the phone with no sign of replacement.
2. the less yellowish screen has no scratch, but the metal phone frame has scratches at the bottom edge, plus the bottom side of the screen seems to be not totally flushed with the frame, indicating screen replacement was done.
so i am
Mine is waiting for UPS pickup since 14th but should finally ship on Monday & says delivery Tuesday. Likely will be Weds.

Does anyone know if Apple cares about after market parts on trade ins? Like are they only going to check the screen is good and it powers on? Or will they open it and look inside as well?
I said Verizon has started contacting users if sim is not correctly registered to phone it is being used in. Said they could pull service if sim was used in wrong phone & to put sim back in original phone. This was for TF using Verizon (TF using ATT/T-Mo aren't registered to a specific phone).
It's safe to assume TF VZ will now be enforcing correctly registered sims on both TF & TW (TF has let it slide in the past, I've also used one in different phone for several months but it was a yr ago).
Up to each user if they want to chance it since things are no longer guaranteed to work the way they did before Verizon bought the company.
I don't want someone coming back later & blaming me because they got bad info & messed up their phone.

The other 2, 1 has cracked screen and another is replaced confirmed by Apple. Both are very pure white and more bright. I just filed paypal claims on these 2 phones since tw rep is so difficult to deal with and refused to provide return shipping.
Or could I use the rsim technique to unlock right away?
And could I trade it in to Verizon for a $800 credit right away (towards iphone 13)?

That's why I'm uncomfortable with swapping sims now, things are unpredictable.
