Sony for:
- Size
- Darker rooms
- Better sound
- PS5

Samsung for:
- Brighter rooms
- Need for viewing at wide angles
- Better UI
- XboxSX

Both are really good choices and I think it mostly comes down to the location you will put it in. Light in room, how far your seats are from the TV, what angle from the TV, etc.
I'm on the lookout for any deal on the 85".
Can you clarify why one is better for the PS5 and the other better for XboxSX?

I dont even know what hdr10 or dolby vision is, with that said I must not need it. because picture and sound always looks and sounds good. meh. just like motorcycles coming out with IMU tilt sensing etc, I dont need that junk.

Too bad almost everyone supports DV and almost none support HDR10+.
↵For streaming: Amazon, Paramount+, Showtime, and Hulu all support HDR10+. IMO, if Hulu supports it, I believe only a matter of time before Disney+ supports it too.

Really destroys the argument you are making is what I am saying. They should at least allow the consumer to pay the DV activation fee to use it, but they are just being stubborn and anti consumer at this point.
That I agree with, but not for Dolby Vision in my case but for DTS pass-through.

Yes but what content is there is the point. Put a list side by side of shows and movies that have DV vs HDR10+ support, and you can easily see there is an avalanche of DV content, where as the HDR10+ content is a drop in the bucket. The streaming services can include it all they want, but if there is nothing to watch on said streaming services compared to the amount of DV content they have? Kind of like the Blu ray vs HD DVD argument, or the betamax vs vhs before that. HDR10+ is the loser in the format wars.

This is a too broad statement. Sony makes bad TVs and Samsung makes some that completely wipe that Sony model away. You HAVE TO LOOK at the ratings, technology itself, and most-importantly: reviews.

This is like saying Honda is worse than Chevy. A Corvette will mop the floor over an Accord but an Accord would outquality any Sonic. See? Not fair at that generalization.

That being said: GREAT DEAL! Mini-LED is great for those wanting some more solid blacks in experiences like movies/shows with letterboxed aspect ratios but can't quite get an OLED for say burn-in fears that if you are not conscious of, or have children for example unaaware of technology like that.

I'm all for Micro-LED to come to the consumer market in about 10 years when it can overtake OLED. Bit for now mini-LED is great for those needing more brightness and aa better black-experience over current LED backlit panels.

NOTE: They're trying to push full-array dimming in the same boat as mini-LED. ITS NOT! Mini-led can turn off zones completely similar to OLED cur-offs; not entirely but it makes for a more pleasant viewing experience.

Why this over a 65 lg c1 oled when they are about the same price?
And where do you see a 65 C1 for $1350?

Tier 0: LG = highest quality with best UI + Smart Remote (LG C series or G series)
Tier 1: LG & Sony = best top tier TVs (other OLEDS)
Tier 2: Samsung/Sony = best mid-tier TVs (sony x90 or samsung qn90/85)
Tier 3: Samsung = best low-tier TVs (cheaper qleds)

best tv's to me with no burnin.- I cannot fathom buying OLED no matter how good the picture is if theres any possible risk to a burn in forming. the technology is flawed to me due to that, and id rather pay for the top QLED vs OLED everyday.

youre wrong in so many ways. If you're talking about Black uniformity then VA panels will deliver better than ADS or IPS panels. Correct me if im wrong but the 85QN uses an ADS panel? I know its not VA for sure. One thing Nano/micro/itsy bitsy LEDs have over regular sized LEDs is eye searing brightness.

I would actually put QN90 in the top TIER 1. While it features a VA panel, it also has a ultra-wide viewing angle to tackle the narrow viewing angle that most VA's known for.

No, VA still use a backlight. Mini-LED is just a smarter and smaller full-array dimming with a ton more zones.

Full array is nice in that theres not the edge-lit smudge; but it STILL MEANS there is backlight on. Full-array can't fully turn off like mini-led.

Mini-LED It nicer in that it can make letterboxed content richer because it will completely eliminate the black-zone haze. VA does handle blacks better than IPS, yes; but its backlight is still-on; and fully on.

Mini-led can shut off zones; not to the pixel level like OLED, but it can. IPS and VA CAN be mini-led. Makreting now is going to make this confusing to consumers because they're not as apt to look at actual specs of the tech.

Dont know about tier 0. I'm a fan of LG TVs but I got 3 count that 1, 2 & 3 LG remotes DIED on me. The 3rd one is from 65 C Oled ~2019 not exactly a bottom tier tv.
First 1 I thought was a flute or interference from plasma TV, 2nd -doubt stuck in my mind. 3rd removed all of my doubt.
