I bought it for $299 at microcenter a few months back
Yes, and you know what's weird, the 5600x has been gone for a week or two. You think this chip would increase or stay up in price if everyone's go-to value chip is not being sold by the cheapest vendor in the US.

It's because the new Intel budget chips are giving them a run for their money so amd basically had to lower their prices or everyone would just buy the cheaper Intel chips.
Be careful, Microcenter in Georgia denied return on AMD Ryzen 7 Mobo that would not boot up. Happened to me this week.
Assuming you bought a mb that was not sold As-IS, push harder. Go up the chain. Tell the manager you will have your credit card cancel the order and email the regional manager. If its a dead board its the same thing as them selling a rock in the box- illegal scam.
Micro Center will cave if you bought a new motherboard and it has the normal return option. Go back! And good luck!

Was it new? I've been shopping at microcenter here in NY for a very long time. I've built dozens of systems and never had trouble returning something. Even open box motherboards
It's not really a "deal" when Microcenter ALWAYS has the "mobo bundle discount" and it's only available in store. So few Microcenters around the US, too.
I was looking at those a week ago and some of the motherboards were $30-40 cheaper on Amazon, etc (using PCPartPicker to check). Seems like maybe they aren't the deals they used to be

How is that weird most people don't build rigs right now for the reason you can't afford find a graphics card. All the other stuff like memory and hard drives got cheaper over the past 2 years so why not cpu's?

Never had a problem returning a product with the Marietta Store in GA. Though I only had to ones or twice in the last 12 years...

And we already know Zen 4 is going to be a space launch.

Yea good luck finding one after it comes out let alone will be crazy expensive.
My MB should support the 5800x3d but will be at least a year+ before I even think of getting one due to limits/price.
My Intel 3770 and Amd 2700x are still going strong so no need to upgrade. But I be lying if I said I was not thinking of it.
