I've found that around here, different Ks will have *slightly* different programming wrt the registers. For example, my closest K rarely has boxes pop up. If I buy 6 different kinds of widgets and have 6 $1 Qs for any widget, all 6 Qs will sail through, no problem. At the next farthest K, however, the dreaded boxes will pop up. Same w/992s... no boxes at the first store, but plenty of boxes at the next.
Perhaps try at a different K and see if the same thing happens?

Are there any great finds that I should be checking out this week? I finally found a store that has the Rayovac (I need to find the rest of my Q's, hopefully it didn't expire on the 31st), I also found some Renue Travel Size, now to find those Q's & hopefully they don't exclude travel size. Any tips or pointers for this week would be most appreciated.
Wouldn't Target have the ability to figure out who did this? Would have to have been a return - and check by inventory number. Would they prosecute or cut their losses? At least call the DB's and let 'em know they found it. Just wondering what they do in those situations.
