This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Sorry about your dad hug
Thanks. He was very, very sick at the end. He had beaten lung and brain cancer, but he had very bad COPD and the drugs they gave him for pain suppressed his breathing even more. The last drug they added was the last straw and they had to put him on a respirator to breathe. The good thing was we got to see him one last time and know that he only wanted to live so he could take care of my SM. But he was never going to be able to recover to that point so it has not been hard to accept it was his time and whether you are religious or not, he is better off. But it is hard to think I don't have a dad anymore.

I meant to tell you your DS will be fine in daycare. You will pick a great place and he will make friends and it will be fine. He may pitch a fit when you leave him (or not). My 17 yo DS still knows some of the kids he went to daycare with when he was a baby. They aren't best buds but they still talk... I can't believe we have lived in the same house his whole life so far.

I actually dreamed my SM clung to my leg and said "dooooooon't leave me" the way my DS did for a bit. I laughed the other day because she told me if we were done visiting, she needed to get back to her friends. And when the doctor came out there to examine her as a new patient, she told her she needed to wait a few minutes because she was busy at the birthday party. So at least she is happy and that part has gone great.

Quote from TexasCathy :
I have a medical related question of my own. I got sciatica about 7 weeks ago. I am WAY better than I was. I have done a ton of PT that I googled. When it was really bad I was taking vicodin 4 times a day. I am down to taking 1/2 a 750 strength pill at night. The past few nights I have tried to go to bed without it. But when I am trying to go to sleep I can really feel my leg hurt. Not like sharp pain, just it hurts. I am pretty pain tolerant (slept through all my early labor dreaming I was in labor) but I keep getting up after 45 minutes to an hour and taking the 1/2 pill. Do you think I am "addicted" and just need to break the habit? I am going to take 2 advil and soak in a warm tub tonight and see if that gets me past it.

I hate not sleeping. I still have so many things to do to get my stepmom's finances organized and my office is still a disaster with clothes I need to label before I can take them to her Alzheimer's place, pictures that need to be in albums before they can go out there, etc. Although she took at least 1/3 of the pictures out of the one album I got done and out to her. I guess I see more Shutterfly books in my future. And then she can do whatever she wants to with the actual pictures. I am glad she at least looked at them and enjoyed them.

Any ideas on if I need to just tough it out?
Ok, I have a few opinions about your situation. First off, Sciatica is VERY PAINFUL!!! VERY!!!!!!!!! Second, pain is pain, if you feel it, you should take meds. f you wait until your pain is BAD, then it is only harder to get it under control!! Also, you are going thru a stressful situation, and stress worsens the effects of pain or any disease process. nod Another thing, sleep is VERY important for healing!!! If you are not sleeping, your body will be fatigued sooner and therefore increasing your pain. When I was in school, they told us that you can NOT be addicted to pain meds if you are actually experiencing pain. It is a different situation if you are not having pain anymore, but if it is effecting your ADL (activities of daily living, like sleeping) then you should take them!!

I was hurt on the job over a year and a half ago. My pain is much better, but I still experience it when my day is starting to end and if I do not take my meds, the pain WILL wake me up from my sleeping. It just happens, and there is NOTHING to be ashamed about.

Now, if you are concerned, I suggest you make an appt (or call) your dr's office and they can talk to you further! hug heart hug

I will keep you in my Pray for all that you have been going thru and hope that you are pain-free sooner, rather than later!! hug

I appreciated your opinions and the perspective of your training and personal experience. So thanks for every word. I am going to see how I am doing early Wed and then call to see the Nurse Practioner if I think I need to. From everything I read, it is not abnormal for it to take a while to get 100% better. I am probably at least 80% or more better. Just not back to normal for me yet.

I did not know that. I am sorry to hear that and hope you are doing OK. It is a horrible disease. And it seems like every family is touched by it. I hope your SM did not suffer, but the treatment is sometimes as awful as the disease. heart hug

It takes awhile for the nerve to heal after being 'pinched'. One thing that helped me when the pains were shooting down my leg for weeks was that I finally went to a Chiropractor and had an adjustment. It just seemed to be taking a long time to get better. A few days after the adjustment the pain was gone.

My doc gave me a shot that helped for a while. It is still painful every once and a while but is much better that before the shot. Don't know wha the shot was but it did help. Pain is not with every movement as it was but on and off. HTH

Water broke slow leak just like with Mini. Synthetic labor in my future as I am not having active contractions.
Took a shower shaved my legs Teehee Was talking to DH about getting a pedicure tomorrow but that's not going to happen so he's taking off my polish.

Need to call doc and she if she wants me to come in right away. Might just hang out to see if labor will start.
