I had lost a $100 gift card, and found the receipt on it, called Target and they cancelled that one and sent me a new one. Not sure if you're like me but I keep every Target reciept. If you do have them you could quickly check your receipts with the GC's you bought and got through deals and check the balance on them, then call Target to cancel those ones, If they haven't already gone to T and used them.

I'm going to try to call tomorrow if I can. Hopefully that won't be too late by the baby has been having a rough day today (teething) and that combined with all the "necessary" calls I had to make took up my day.
If you have the receipts from the Target gift cards, you can call GS and cancel them.
This is the main reason I no longer carry a purse, btw....
Makes me want to rethink my bad habit of leaving the purse in the car. And if you are like me, my receipts are in my purse too, so I wouldn't even be able to cancel them. UGH
I must stop being so blatant to the changes going on in our country. Desperate times call for desperate measures. No more leaving my purse in the car. DH is always on my case about this! And I can't even imagine the GCs you might have had in there.....

: bigeye: WTF? That SUCKS! But why would YOU feel like an idiot? For trusting that you could leave your purse in your car for a few minutes? That really sucks! I always say "sure, take my purse, whatever, there's nothing much of value in there but take my coupons..."
Oooh...good idea! It would take me quite awhile to cancel all my gc's : whistlin: but I do keep all of my receipts too...so hopefully sb has hers and can cancel the cards she knows she had in there. I would have a hard time knowing which ones I hadn't already used though.
And, yeah, it will take me a while.
Anyway, words to the wise. Don't leave anything visible in your car someone else might covet. Don't leave your purse in your cart. Make a copy of the front and back of everything in your wallet at least once a year because it is hard to even remember what you were carrying if you have cards you don't use often. My DH would say those cards should not be in my wallet, but then I don't have them when I need them. I did take all my gift cards and put them in a pencil pouch that fits down between the seat and console and that way they are in the car with me but not in my purse. Wish I had more wisdom but that is it.

So I did end up calling the police today and reported it (figured if it become an identity theft issue later I better substantiate it) and then spent mucho time on the phone with the bank trying to get our checking account cancelled and transferred over to a new one. Apparently the farkers used my Visa debit card at a bunch of gas stations and also made an online purchase with it. So now my DH is all up in arms to try to get the address so he can sic the police on them or something. I'm not hopeful.
I just got nervous not too long ago about the GCs that I had in my purse so I pulled a bulk of them out and put them in my drawer at home. Figured, until I need to make a big purchase, I don't need to have all of them with me all the time. Let this be a lesson to all of us with GCs.
SB, have you gone to the gas station where they went, and surronding areas to see if you can find your piurse? A lot of times they toss it in a bathroom garbage or something.
I am hoping your GCs weren't in your wallet, and then maybe they didn't even find them. Not that you will get them back, but at least they don't get to reap the benefits from them.

I have newborn twins... they are still on the every 3 hour a bottle schedule. I can't wait till they go to sippy cups and feeding themselves. right now we feed them pumped milk but it takes an hour a feeding as they don't suck right bc they were preemies... its a full time job feeding my twinkies.
