Just put this together. Very well built. Took about 90-mins with some breaks. Good directions, and all bags labeled very well. Comes with the riser, so although technically 3/4 size, but height is good in my opinion to play standing up. (I am 6'2" and have no complaints). I have several MAME machines (cocktail/Desktop), but none with trackball/spinner so this was a good addition for the trackball/spinner specific Atari games.

Yeah the 249 deal was gone really quick. The walmart deal for 289 didnt last long either. I never actually saw these in any physical stores so this is in stock and the cheapest available by 80 bucks currently.

With the riser it'll be about regular height. But you're right in that the cabinet itself is smaller, though for this game it's less of an issue than multiplayer cabs
This has a track ball, a spinner dial and buttons.
Most games will not play on it because it has no joystick.
It's sort of a specialty layout for spinner and trackball games
millipedes, centipedes, tempest, asteroids
The track ball on the atgames legends pro semi- sucks, even though for the $99 I got it for it completely rocks for the price with all the extra games that can be installed.
I missed the last $250 deal and was bummed. I looked at a bunch of reviews. In two reviews, it was said that the track ball was really good. and no complaints about the spinner.
I bought one. Probably shouldn't have! too much stuff.
It's a great deal if you are in to the games it comes with.
I don't count on anyone making game expansions for this thing because it doesn't have core demand and bulk sales. It could happen. would be nice to play some of the shooting games on a good trackball.
I think mostly Gen X guys by these and never play them
Thanks for the link. I didn't know about that. It looks like it has the same games Plus Lunar Lander, and Super Breakout. I like Lunar Lander it takes a lot of patience and nerve.
It says the wifi is used for leaderboards. Says this is the first time these games are using leader boards. As a casual player I can live without constantly seeing scores by people who are kicking my ass.
When it comes out it will cost what? $600?
I'm sticking with this $269.99 Norstrom deal. Will have to live without lunar lander.
I like the tempest art better than the centipede art anyway, though they are both very good.
Just picked one up and will prob get yelled at by the wife.
Anyway to get an extended warranty on this? Easy to repair and get parts for ? Have 2 young kids so for stuff like this being prepared For anything they will do to it should be mandatory.

All the newer arcade1ups have been more expensive so $500-$600 range is prob correct.

This Nordstrom Tempest one is $270. If the new was is double that, that would be $540.
Tax on $270 is $23.62. With the doubled price, also comes $23.62 more tax. That $23.62 is a real added expense. People 'think' in a way they consider it as not.
That's part of my logic why I think this Norstrom deal is great.
Just notices this (and the new version) has crystal castles. that is a great game that needs a great trackball. It also has missle command. That game always drove me nuts, but with a good trackball who knows. Some of these games really force you to think things out and not just rely on strictly reflex. I have a love/hate thing for that kinda brutality.
I'd really want to see a Stargate/Defender version. That would be even more niech than this Tempest one. Could only play Stargate and Defender on it, unless other controls were added too. Would be crowded.
I tried to price match at kohls but they wouldnt do it.
Kohls has a list of exclusionary brands. The % off coupons do not work on exclusionary brands, and they will not pricematch on any product on the excluded brand list. You can use Kohl's cash on exclusion brands though. Good to know.
I'm not making excuses for Kohl's. Their policies are weird and counter intuitive. Then they have all kinds of rules you practically have to be a Private Eye to find on their web site and printed policy sheet. They have all kinds of hidden rules that work against customers. If you are good at math you can figure out some of them. Lastly, the store managers rarely know much of their own policies. Instead of honoring policy managers are 'no' people. I lost a gift receipt and went to customer service in store. They can not replace a gift receipt according to the store manager. I can't print out a gift receipt from online, so convenient for them. I said to the manager, "I'm at customer service talking to the store manager. Is that not where I should go to resolve this problem?" She said to call online customer service. She even saw on my online account that the item had a gift receipt. She said two things I knew were not policy during the time I was there. I just left.
Lesson is: So many companies promise then roundabout after purchases. They get out of returning money due by making it impossible for CS's correct errors using their computers, and hire 'no' managers that don't even know policy because they don't have to know their own policy to say 'no'.
