Basing your opinion on an entire operating system from experience with one set seems a little silly, especially if you're only buying budget sets.
A budget set on either platform is going to provide a budget experience, but obviously the platform that does less will eek ahead.
If you want a more pure comparison, grab a Roku Ultra and a Chromecast with Google TV.

I'm a fan of Google hardware and have no doubt that the new Chromecast is great. All of my Roku TVs were the cheapest ones I could find, and my point is that the "budget experience" with Roku is perfectly satisfactory. Not so with built-in Android TV.
I wasn't referring to brands. Just price. Most companies make cheap sets and higher quality ones for a reason.
You don't, plug in a firestick and it has its own interface, just like if you plugged in an Xbox or Playstation. My tv auto opens my firestick once I turn it on I never have to deal with the default operating system.

And I LOVE SD TV threads, lol... who knew there were Roku die-hards? And anti Chinese electronics folks, really?!?
There should be a separate thread for the Best Buy one
Ok, keep searching for another 75+ inch budget TV that checks all of your boxes because you can't spend $30 on a firestick. Good luck š¤š

HDR is very washed out but pretty OK for gaming as far as speed (much better than my 2012 Visio it replaced). Blacks are really really bad - gray zones all over the place but 1080p upscaling is quite good.
Top row of pixels already messed up if I use 10-bit color on Xbox.
