I then removed the control box from the install and bypassed it and low and behold it worked. So now I must debate whether to troubleshoot how to replace the control box to use the hands free or be content with a new faucet for $49 with no hands free. I can't find any other mention of similar issues on their site or online

it is secure but i had to move the weighted ball higher then the indicated location on thr hose to keep in place. It may be because the hose was rubbing on the other hoses and control box. My garbage disposal takes up a lot of space.
