I knew it because when I wanted to buy them, only indoor one was available at Costco.
So, finally I bought the renewed from Amazon before Christmas.
Now indoor is not available at Costco.
The renewed from THIRD PARTY has been this price for many months or a year.
I bought it just a month ago from Tech Union (one of the sellers, same price), it came with brown box with official Philips Renewed Label on it, so it's manufacturer renewed, not seller refurbished. It looks new to me, just like another one I bought in retail box (open box)
First it's not a light (some reviewers thought it's a light).
It's more than just a motion sensor, it's also luminance sensor and temperature sensor.
It can be used to control Hue bulb or any Zigbee devices with capable zigbee hub.
Other than turning on lights under a certain lux value (rather than fixed time or sunrise/sunset settings) when anyone walk by my yards and driveway, using Hubitat, I also use them as motion sensors to send me alert if anyone pass by when I turn on the alarm mode and temperature sensor for real outdoor temperature. You can be creative to control anything with those 3 built-in sensors
(e.g. some people put the indoor one in fridge to use the light sensor to sense if the door is open and monitor the temperature)

Hope this helps those that may be on the fence about getting one
Link didn't work. Did it go out of stock in Costco?
If you use an illuminance value you can accommodate for clouds and stuff. Plus you can turn your lights off when you are in for the night but use motion to turn them back on, lessening light pollution.
But I get what you are saying. A simple timer is quite effective. I didn't bother upgrading the photocell on my post lamp because "smart" automation didn't offer much more. But when it finally died I rewired to use a Shelly dimmer. Besides sunset/sunrise it slowly dims to a low light overnight but does go bright if Home Assistant notices wifey or I coming home.
Link? I'm not seeing them listed currently

For example, buying a 'renewed' hammer? Sure. there's hardly anything that could possibly go wrong.
Buying electronics that I'm putting outdoors? Maybe not.
I have a Health-Zenith motion detector that runs my floodlights (not wireless, not a true comparison). It eventually died after 18 months of being cooked by the sun, rained on, etc. The warranty was for 2yrs, and they replaced it for free.
This feels like a paid post but legally those have to be disclosed as "sponsored"
