This is with bestbuy, so no bill credit involved, it's instant trade in value that deducts from the sale price, and tax is on the deducted selling price too. Don't mislead others.

ATT is $100 cheaper further. $500 for mini and $600 for regular. But trade in values are horrible.

T-Mo is still the best in value overall.

My receipt from BB shows they valued my 11 at only $300. The rep said that Tmo is covering the other $200.
Yes, $200 extra is a T-Mobile promotion and its instant discount.

Just FYI, if you return the deice, you get only a $300 BB Gift card for your trade-in device, not the full $500.

No, I did purchase one 13 Pro max last night and I traded in my 12 pro max and I paid $112 so it must be changed today, or they might get lucky and get a way with that.
Can you provide price breakdown from your receipt? Was it a direct purchase from store or Instore pickup? Website seems to list the max for full retail price.

3. Traded in and got the new phone with a new SIM
4. Put the new SIM(from best buy) in the phone .

yes, best buy gave me a new tmobile sim. You can then go to bestbuy.com , order and there will be activate button to proceed with transfer.
Since i had previous tmobile sim , i just poped the old sim into the phone and it activated it with no problems so essentially you don't need the best buy sim if you dont want to.
Tonight i chatted with tmobile over twiter and they unlocked them phone in 30 min.

You got pro Max for 999? It's showing the pro for that price and pro Max at 1099. Also $12 in taxes, so you got charged taxes on the after discount price, not the full price?

I did exact same thing.
2. got a new sim for $20 plan. I activated it in burner phone to make sure plan was active.
4. I didnt use the new sim the best buy gave me and instead just put the tmobile $20 plan sim in iphone - it activated and locked iphone to tmobile as expected.
5. chatted over twitter with @tmobilehelp asking for unlock.
-they asked for best buy receipt - gave them screen shot from online order - they need to see date purchase, and IEMA number.
-tested with other sim (i have visible, freedompop(att), textnow(tmobile) - all worked on iphone so definately unlocked.
- performed upgrade to ios 15 and retested and rechaed that SIM NO RESTRICTIONS
6. I am going to call tomorrow to cancel the $20 plan since i dont need it and use signed up for it to be active customer and to not have problems with the unlock process.

I took advice from others here and did the deal in store tonight. I have a grandfathered T-Mobile one plan. No errors or glitches in store thankfully . Surprised how fast and smooth it all went actually.

Traded two TW refurb XRs for two 13 minis. Rep did not even check condition, just typed in IMEI and asked if any scratches or issues existed.

I did two separate transactions to maximize XR trade values because I am selling one mini. Price for each mini was $225 after trade and tax. Total out of pocket for each mini was about $350 after adding the cost of the XR from TW.

I am selling one mini after the sale ends for $600, so will make $250 on that one, which means end cost for the one mini I am keeping will be $100. Long road to get there but not too shabby. Beats bill credits for 30 months. And T-Mobile is good about unlocking promptly, so no worries there.

How quickly after activating the $20 plan were you able to go to bestbuy? Does it take a while for the bestbuy system to know about the new TMobile plan?

So you paid $20 for 1 month + $30 for activation?

Thanks for the info. I'm using my friend's account. I wouldn't want to transfer his number onto the new sim. This is helpful!
