Update on my experience: I installed this on Friday. For reference, I have Spectrum gig internet plan, 2 story home, main router upstairs, satellite downstairs, doing wireless backhaul.

1. Setup was crazy easy, by far the easiest I have experienced among Mesh routers like Asus and Orbi. I was up and running in about 5-10 minutes. No false starts or restarting from scratch needed to get it working out of the box.

2. Speeds were not as fast I expected, but definitely among the fastest I have tested. Using my iPhone 13 Pro, I was able to get a top speed in the 600-700s right next to the router at first, but would usually average 400-500s. Was never able to achieve higher than that. Speeds were really inconsistent so I would sometimes get as low as 200-300s right next to the router or around the house as well. Hard to tell if it was the router or my ISP. The deco app did not have an option to test the internet connection from the modem to the router.

3. Similar issue with the satellite unit. I have a PC connected via ethernet to the satellite. When first started up, I would reach close to the 1gig speeds, But then for some reason, later I would only get half of that usually around 400-500s directly connected. Same for my wifi devices connected to the satellite, but sometimes even lower at 200s. Not sure if this is due to the dynamic backhaul switching bands possibly?

4. Dealbreaker for me was that my nest cameras would constantly disconnect. Similar problem I had with the XT8s.

I was looking forward to this system, but for my experience and purposes, it did not work out for me. I hooked up my Arris Surfboard mAX AX6600 (2 pack), and everything just works again and will probably keep it. I have more stable, consistent, higher speeds (close 600-700s; further 300-400s) than that of what I was able to get out of the Deco with wireless backhaul. I think the available reviews online (i.e. dong) tested it out when it first came out a year ago and it did not exactly wow anyone. But my guess is that firmware updates have improved it alot since, and from my experience, its working awesome and you get similar speeds from both the router and satellite.

If you want to check it out, here is the link. Its on sale for $299.99 and I think the sale ends today. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/arri...d=6443774. Also on amazon for same price too.

I bought this so will update with my experience after receiving it. From past posts and reviews, seems to be one of the fastest mesh (and even among stand alone routers) that can take full advantage if you have gigabit internet plans.

I'm upgrading from an Orbi RBK53s which has been stable and reliable. Just wanted faster speeds.

I've tried the following using wireless backhaul:
1. Orbi 753: couldn't even to get it set up initially out of the box despite multiple restarts and factory resets; got frustrated and returned
2. Asus XT8 - I liked the speeds when it worked. Sometimes it would take multiple tries during setup for it to recognize the satellite. Big problem I had was with nest cameras constantly disconnecting. Tried factory resetting, binding IPs, turning off 160 mhz channel, separate guest network, but still had that problem.
3. Currently trying out the ARRIS SURFboard mAX Tri-band AX6600 2 pack (on sale at Bestbuy and Amazon). So far I have been pleasantly surprised. Nest cameras working as expected. Average speeds are higher and more consistent compared to my experience with the XT8. Negatives are that it comes with only 2 Ethernet ports and are placed under the unit so my cables are slightly bent (will probably get right angle cables). Also there is no web interface and no real customizations or tinkering that you can do. However, it just works right now and giving me faster and stable speeds.

I purchased both.

The ax5700 is clearly the faster unit. However, the range did not work well in my house at all.

Switched to the 3 pack 3600 and the range is impeccable. However, the speeds are lower on paper but there is no noticeable difference in my daily activities (streaming 4k video, work etc).

connecting and naming devices is simple and easy on the deco app. great gui. i believe this model however, can have a lesser total number of devices connected (something to consider as seemingly everything is connected to the net these days). GL

Sorry if this has been asked but is it possible or beneficial to pair these with my existing Deco M5 mesh routers? I have three of the M5(s) currently. TIA!
Unless something changed yes all Deco devices can be meshed together so it should be no problem. You want to make sure you make the AX5700 the primary though connected to the router and the M5 on the outskirts of your network.

Unfortunately these new devices are nowhere to be found. When they do come out they'll probably be two to three times as much as this.
Sorry not sure what you mean, I have multiples phones in my home all Wifi 6, I have multiple laptops all wifi 6, even my desktop is currently wireless with wifi 6 and I also have multiple devices such as my desktop which has a 2.5Gbps port and a NAS that has a 2.5 and the ability to add a 10Gig ethernet port to it?

If you literally bought anything NEW and upper scale in the last two years your probably already on wifi 6 with multiple devices.

I have a bunch of wifi 6 and 6E devices too.

I thought you were referring to the Deco AXE11000, which isn't available anywhere yet.

Ooh no, the Asus AXE11000 and AX11000 cause they are both triband and one is Wifi 6E.

Update on the Arris surfboard: I guess I spoke too soon. A couple of my Nest cameras started disconnecting as well, although not to the degree of what I experienced with the deco and Asus. Returned the Arris and the Deco, and went back to my old but reliable Orbi RBK53. I think my experiment Wifi 6 mesh systems is done for now

How does the 2 pack of TP-LINK DECO AX5700 compare to EERO 6 AX1800 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System (3-pack) $195 (Original $279)? Thanks.

Tiivo for DVR and replacement of Verizon STB's (you set it up as a MOCA hub). Went in for about $850 including the refurb minis (3) and replaced $65/mo of Verizon stuff. 15 month to break even … that was 3 1/2 years ago. Best move ever. You sacrifice Verizon on demand but it's not missed in this house. Thinking I may go with the edge at some time in the future if I move and sell what I have.
We use Internet and TV, no DVR. Monthly equipment rent: $20. Do you have any recommendations. Thanks

Recomendations for what? To avoid a $20/mo STB charge?

I had both Deco AX5700 and RBK753 from Costco. Just returned the AX5700. On my gigabit internet, AX5700 delivered a WiFi constantly 100 Mbps slower than RBK753. Also all Deco routers seem to have a bad algorithm that results in suboptimal connections. This creates a huge problem if you try to connect more than 2 Deco units in the same network. See discussions here:
https://community.tp-link.com/en/...pic/276958

Another thing to keep in mind is that AX5700 is a Costco only product. It does not get the same level of technical support as other TP-link routers. Just check how often they have been upgrading Deco X90 firmware vs AX5700 firmware.

Kind of makes sense that the RBK753 is quite a bit faster comparing the price to these Decos. Looks like the Netgear averages close to $400 vs this set for $250. Though it looks like you get a 3rd unit with the Netgear.

Thanks for the tip on the issues with more than 2 units, I'll read up on that. I'm planning to still take my chances on these, waiting for delivery from Costco. I have a wired backhaul so I'm hoping that improves on some of the issues others have had with these.

When I setup the AX5700 yesterday it updated to the latest firmware, 1.1.2, which matches the version available for the X90.

Would love to know this too, I'll share when mine show up. Upgrading from 3 ASUS Blue Cave AC2600 routers. Currently using 2-Deco W6000 routers with Ethernet backhaul. I'll either keep the W6000s or the AX5700s depending on performance. The W6000s were dirt cheap from the other FP Walmart deal.

I'm in your boat. Using a pair of W6000s w/ ethernet backhaul. 2500 sq ft 2 story home. 400/20 internet plan. The W6000s are performing good to great, but I'm an optimizer, so always looking for a little more speed or coverage or reduced lag.

Very similar for me, 3600sqft but with the basement/garage closer to 5000. My fiber connection comes in very far on one side of the house and I have my 2 routers at each end of the 1st floor. Coverage is decent but in the middle upstairs definitely get some slowdown. I'll let you know how these compare, I'm looking for better range more than anything but faster speed would be nice too. I have 1000/1000 fiber and get ~500 in the same room as the router.

Hoping these are a pretty affordable way to future-proof a bit and utilize more of that fiber connection 😁
