i have this washer. it really does suck. anytime i go elsewhere, it amazes how much better my clothes smell after using another washer…do not buy this junk. came free with the house and just waiting for this junk to break at this point
Poor to mediocre reviews from Consumer Reports
Front load washers are a pain in the rear end to clean and maintain. Ive owned one for ten years and I can't wait for that POS to break so I can buy a top load. It's getting to the point where cleaning the buildup inside the detergent tray and front door seal is aggravating.

I have a top load Kenmore washer that works quite well when you bypass the stupid water saving setting.

It much worse than a 1990 washer. Get a spin queen that uses water and has a real agitator. If you want to save water then start outside where with zero scaping. Or protest about flood irrigation. 95% of water is used outside the home.

Front load washers work much better.

Topload high efficiency don't clean.

13 years ago I switched to a whirlpool toploader after a miserable front loader experience, and haven't had any issues to date. I'll stick with what doesn't break down every 3 years.

I bought this deal around christmas and yes it does suck (just the washer) but if you have patience and time, you can make it work.

For heavily soiled/dirty clothes, they need to soak before washing. Not on the presoak setting, use the actual soak setting with hot water if you can. I use cloth diapers for kiddos and I'm getting them clean with this washer with this method.

There seems to be an issue with some washers not filling with water. I don't have that problem. I have to not use any additional rinse cycles to ensure my clothes aren't too wet before drying.

I have no issues with the dryer other than it gets too hot on the eco mode - shrinks clothes so I always use the low heat cycle.

Try using powdered detergent, or less liquid detergent. Most people use way too much detergent in their front loaders.

Back when they weren't total garbage.

I am still using a Kenmore/Whirlpool from the 90's that works like a champ and never been touched.

nowadays, manufacturers use crappy parts. Making them work properly for a short time, then sell us new ones again

I've cycled between both and yes, I don't overfill the detergent tray and fill it below the normal line. What's horrendous about the front loaders is the moisture that lingers inside the tray and inside the door seal. Leaving the tray and door open after using it still doesn't allow the trapped moisture to evaporate leading to moldy buildup.

I gotta take paper towels and scrub the door seal all the way around, and then use a large pipe cleaner brush to scrub the inside ofnthe detergent tray and let me tell you, the grayish black jelly buildup is enough to make a grown man gag
