Amazon has the TP-Link Kasa ES20M Smart Motion Sensor WiFi Light Switch [amazon.com] $31.99 after using the coupon "20ES20MJAN" (one unit per order, valid through 2/14/22 11:59:59 PM PDT). Shipping is free.

This is the new light switch released last year which adds the motion sensor, I think this is the best price ever.

From Description:
【Advanced Motion Detection】Completely hands-free and smart operation of your connected lights. You can set this switch to automatically turn on the light when motion is detected and turn off after a preset time. Ideal for areas such as bedrooms, hallways and restrooms where hands-free operation is ideal.
【Daylight Detection】Smart ambient light detection will sense daylight and prevent lights from turning on during the day.
【Dimming and Smart Mode】Set different light triggers and brightness levels based on your routine for effortless control. Adjust the brightness of your lights from 1% - 100%.
【Voice & App Control】Manage your device with voice commands via Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, or Samsung SmartThings. Hands-free operation of your lights from anywhere through the free Kasa app.
【Away Mode】Automatically turns devices on and off at different times to give the appearance that someone is home.

True... but they could also use the devices as staging grounds to attack other things in your home network. Your best bet is to segment any "smart" devices from the rest of your stuff.
Kasa has the best light switches. DO NOT use their cameras as they don't have MFA nor do they send an email saying a new login has occurred on your account. I'm ok with a hacker switching my lights on/off but logging into my cameras
But by this Christmas we will all be in the metaverse

I'm still seeing $40. Haven't tried the code though.

I can't think of a use case for this. I have a dumb motion detector in the garage that works great. It's overkill for a bathroom.

Honestly it's just fanciness. Your motion detector doesn't need to be smart, as you are saying. Your making me re-evaluat if I want to buy it lol!

I got a Kasa camera in the garage which also serve as a motion sensor for the shop lights on Kasa smartplugs. A Kasa camera costs $30-$70 depending on models. The Kasa smart plugs are as low as $5 each.

Do you're under cab lights work with other dimmers? They might not be dimmable.
Yeah, the house had a dimmer switch that worked perfectly fine but was not a smart dimmer. The dimmer on this one does dim the lights but results in seizure-inducing flicker. I've tried two different smart dimmers and both had the same results. I kept the Kasa one installed since that's what I use in the rest of the house but wish I could use the dimmer instead of full blast all the time.

This is a bit off topic but I have a regular Kasa dimmer with my undercabinet kitchen LED lights. I can't use it as a dimmer because the lights flicker unless they are on max brightness. Anyone know of a smart dimmer that will work properly or if there's a mitigation step I can take with the Kasa dimmer?
For dimmer switch, there are minimum and maximum loading. Perhaps your LED lights are below the minimum loading at low setting. However, you can set the range on your Kasa dimmer to block the low end.

52 on my network for a bit over a year. Mix between switches and bulbs as well with not a single issue

My understanding is it's typically the lights that aren't dimmable or incompatible. Not an expert but you may try a different strip. I've had can lights that do that and I fixed w new dimmable bulbs so maybe the strips are the same

I've wanted one of these but 120 degree is kinda poor for the sensor. It won't turn on until I'm well into the garage and the trash can is right by the door so we never really go in very far. Maybe if my switch was on the wall that is perpendicular to the door, then it would work well.
it's smart.. so you could buy any other motion sensor that's alexa/google compatible and set it where you want it and make a rule to turn the light on when it detects motion.

However, a door sensor would be even easier and more reliable.

I have had a lot of problems with kasa products wifi connectivity the last 6 months and I haven't figured it out yet. But when they work I really like them.
I also had this issue until last summer. At the time I was using the Netgear Orbi router and satellites. I had a plug 3 feet away from the satellite and it would not pick connect. I tried Deco M9 and same issue. Finally, I tried Google Nest and it solved the problem. I think it's something in same area of the router is causing interference, because my bluetooth connection has problems in that area also. I currently have 19 TP-Link Kasa plugs and switches currently without issues. Just my 2 cents.

I have about 15 Kasa switches and plugs and they work flawlessly. My only complaint is that every time I add a device, my Kasa account gets disconnected from Google Home and I have to start mapping all my devices again.

Does this work with HomeKit?
If not, any similar alternatives?
It does if you run HomeBridge - I have about 30 Kasa devices running through there on my NAS running HomeBridge, but you could run it on a Pi too

Perfect, I've been waiting for this. A must for bathrooms because in the middle of the night, I don't want the light to turn on full 100%

I have 4 Kasa switches and they work flawlessly.

I initially thought the same, and have a dumb motion sensor switch in our laundry room that works great and has a ton of programmable features. But a use case for this smart motion sensor is triggering other actions - not something I need to do in our laundry room, but I get that people would have use cases where this smart switch could trigger other actions.

I would have this dim the initial light it is hooked up to and also light up a secondary light depending on what i'd be doing. At times we had to get up in the middle of the night and some of them were bulbs that had to be controlled by alexa and I didn't want to wake people up speaking to her. The motion sensor would have been cool there.

I have various Kasa Wifi products - some, pretty far, at the far end of the garage - no issues. If you wifi isn't strong to reach them, that could be the issue
