How is this compared to the Costco 50" Hisense? 5 year total warranty on the Hisense with the Costco card so I picked it up but not a huge fan of Roku. Have a fire stick but Roku remote CEC doesn't control the fire stick. So now will probably need to update the fire stick for a newer one that includes tv controls.

Most of the reviews seem to be related to a cracked screen or smart cast. That explains why target has better ratings. Walmart shipping and handling is damaging these units. So if you're using roku and buying from target you can ignore the ratings at Walmart.

4473 reviews, out of that 257 are 1-star. That 94.4% positive. The biggest issue with Vizio is the operating system, it is slow and sluggish and you will have to reboot the TV more than you want to fix those issues. Vizio didn't use Android, Fire TV, or Google TV, they went with SmartCast and Watch Free+.

If you are using a Fire Stick, Roku, or Android box and never use the Vizio web setup, then it's fine.

The WatchFree (free online channels) is nothing new, Samsung offers the same thing. Vizio does not do so well online, their sales come from Big Box stores, if you ever go to Walmart, Costco, or Sam's Club, Vizio is right there, front and center. They pay those stores to have that front premium spot. Those who buy Vizio do so because they can have it home the same day.

$300 for a 50 inch TV isn't great, but it's decent if you don't want to spend a lot of money on the big 3 (Samsung, Sony, and LG)

If you're going to buy a Vizio
If you don't already have a media streamer.
Get one. Don't bother with the TV's OS. It is the worst in the business.

Use your phone w/FireTV app to control it instead. Works w/Alexa voice also.

I've purchased a few TVs from Walmart over the last 5 years. They all shipped via FedEx and arrived undamaged, thankfully. But I've read many reports here and in Walmart reviews of TVs arriving damaged.

I've only ever purchased TVs from Target at the store (pickup). How do they ship their TVs?

Purchased my first Vizio in December. Screen went out 2 days ago. It lasted about 11 weeks. I'm sure others have had good experiences with Vizio. I didn't have one. Walmart customer service graciously allowed an exchange despite being beyond the return period. Paid more and purchased another Samsung. Done with Vizio.

Was trying to have a simple one remote solution. I do occasionally use the remote app for the fire stick but it requires looking at the phone screen each time to use instead of the TV screen (lazy people problems..lol). But I still don't get why the Hisense TVs CEC doesn't allow control of the attached fire stick. I can use my Samsung TVs remote to control an attached fire stick. Maybe they intentionally leave that functionality out because they don't care for people to use a device other than the built-in Roku.
