umm there is no "learning curve" with windows 11. If you already used to windows 10 then in no time you will be proficient in windows 11

https://www.notebookcheck.net/Len...869.0.html suggests the WiFi card is swappable. Intel AX200 should be ~$25 from Ebay to get WiFi6.

Except for wifi, this checks all the boxes. Great price! Do we know if the WiFi card is swappable?

Regarding potential issues - the product tag at my Costco says "Concierge Services technical support and second year warranty included." Are those services worth anything, or no?

Also - what is the return policy on laptops purchased from Costco? I'm wondering if it's a hassle to try for ~30 days.

Thanks all!

I believe it's 90 day return policy on certain electronics like this. The warranty is pretty good. I used it on a Samsung tablet, called Costco line who transferred me over to Samsung rep who had me mail back in tablet at no charge. It seem like priority support or better support then I'd normally receive.

So I bought an IdeaPad 5 Pro in November, the hinge issue came up. I couldn't (and nobody else could) find an instance where the IdeaPad 5 PRO had issues. The IdeaPad 5 did, but not the pro version. So YMMV, I felt comfortable with it, and mine hasn't had an issue and I travel with mine (although it's only been 3 months or so).

Chiming in - my theory is to get the best processor/screen combo you can for the $. Those have the biggest impact on your day-to-day enjoyable usage, and they realistically can't be upgraded. This is a pretty potent match of CPU & screen for $650, IMHO. The Aero for $700 at Costco is even smaller but slightly more powerful with its power-choked Ryzen 7.
Would you recommend the Aero over this one?

After trying both, no. Get the Aero if you're cross-shopping.

I'd probably go with the IdeaPad Pro for the better build quality and better screen (more pixels and touch).

future proofing is rarely worth it. i've never had a laptop in this price segment last longer than 5 years. even my MBP from 2008 really only effectively lasted me 4-5 years. by then it was completely outdated either software wise, battery wise (sure replaceable), or hardware wise. i think you have a reasonable concern, but i don't think its worth weighing too heavily for most people. just buy another $500-600 laptop in 4-5 years. i have yet to upgrade to wifi6 in my house. i will probably in 3-4 years, but for now will leave it alone.
Not in my case, I'm using Lenovo Ideapad bought 10 years ago. The only thing i had to swap my hard drive with an SSD.

pretty tempting, but I am just going to replace the battery in my old acer spin 5.... maybe if this had a real thinkpad keyboard with trackpoint....

somehow my old spin 5 just seems more durable.... going on 5 years... had to replace the power jack with a part off ebay, but maybe could have simply re-bent the tension clips....

saw the laptop in store for same price as online... it seems too shiny... of course they had it set up to look like garbage.. if there was somehow another price break down to 600 I might have to buy..

Anyone know what's the price of this in Costco store hoping it is available in store?
My store had 32 in stock 2 days ago

2 Different posters said the price is the same in store==650 but no $10 shipping as they have them at the store----I guess if your store runs out you would have to pay shipping or try another store

I have a 14'' ideapad 5 Ryzen 4 4500U and RIGHT after the thing was out of warranty, like two days after, the hinge broke horribly with no weird use or warning. I'm so careful with the thing, it's definitely a design flaw (and unfortunately I read it was on reddit after the fact). not sure whether htis model has the same problem. It will cost a fortune to fix and is stuck in a upright position, can't be closed. Disgusted with Lenovo. I watched several Youtube reviews yammering on about how amazing this laptop is before buying but only noticed the hinge complaints after. I won't mention the washed out not bright enough screen because it's different than the Lenovo pro screen (I realize i just did, ha!) There are also constant issues with the sound where i have to reinstall the driver to hear anything, and the sound is meh. The keyboard is decent, I must say, and it feels solid...

I guess I'd just make sure that this model doesn't suffer from the same hinge issue because I have read that a lot of Lenovo Ideapad 5 models do and that Lenovo doesn't always cover it even if it's in warranty period.
