yes, this is the new version:

https://smile.amazon.com/Castrol-...09M982T3B/

frankly, without starting a debate, any decent full synthetic in the $10-$20 range is fine enough for everday use if changed regularly. but if you have an exotic or luxury car, you'll probably want something with european specs.

Good deal. Even the Walmart in-house brand is now $20. Then again, what hasn't increased in price.

You don't get a discount for 'no tomatoes,' but you always pay more for 'extra cheese.'

I have a similar situation with my truck. I change the oil in my truck once per year. Going on 9 years now. So far no problem.

Ditto. Once per year on a 1969 Chevy C10. No problem with once per year.
Yeap same here on 3 vehicles that have their own purposes which see less than 5k miles a year.

My daily which sees 10k a year gets 2 changes a year simply due to the short sprints to work (7 miles each way).

Nice deal! I've noticed a recent lack of oil deals. $17 w/o rebate is really good considering even Costco's Kirkland is up to $35/10qt now. Adding to my S&S this month. Thanks OP!

Awesome. I hate paying a lot of money for oil because my car takes about 4 quarts and I get stuck with 1/5 filled bottles every time.
I got so annoyed at my local oil change place. I took 3 cars there, back to back to back. Fiat (4 quarts), Smart Car (3 quarts), and and Ram truck (7 quarts). Paid for all at the time and they looked at me like I was dumb for questioning why they were charging me for 2 extra quarts of oil on the truck even if the other two cars used far less than their included amount of 5 quarts per vehicle. I bring my own oil now but it is a pain to keep track of the leftovers since none of them use the same oil....

Thats true! I just thought, err hoped, they'd move the "cheese'' from one burger to the other Wink

5w-30 looks to be OOS now. 5w-20 and 0W-20 still available for now.

those who need 5W-30 may consider the Pennzoil deal isntead:

"Is this safe to use in my car?" Guess my model year and make.
"Can I use car oil in my motorcycle?"
"Which one of these do I need?" No I didn't bother to read the lubrication spec in the manual.
"Which is better this or brand X?"

Don't forget to keep your jugs for recycling. Every Walmart and most quick oil change places will take your old stuff for free.
What do we do with the jugs themselves?

You give them the jugs Smilie

Most likely they still end up in a landfill but at lease someone else will do it for you

Quick question, do I have to replace the High mileage synthetic motor oil after six months? I have a truck that sits around all day just staring at me, gets very minimal use.
I have one of those and do an annual oil change on it. Usually has less then 2000 miles on the oil.

There are hardly any synthetic oil deals these days🙁
There are shortages in the production of these types of oils. The additive packages are in short supply for all manufacturers.

Good deal. The Kirkland signature 4pack is just SLIGHTLY cheaper at $16.25 per 5qt. Repped.

Been using the Kirkland full synthetic in all my vehicles and it's been great. Previously was using Mobil 1, Pennzoil Platinum and Castrol Edge, the Kirkland seems equally good and costs less without any rebate hassles.

key word is MOST. if you look at your chart, it hasn't fallen back down to under 20 since december. if you have a stockpile from last year before the supply chain issues, then this deal isn't for you. i was looking to change my oil since december and all these castrols magnetecs were between $25 and $50. shows on the right side of your chart. and that's not even including the 5W-20 or 0W-20 deal that hasn't even existed for a while.
Bought chevron recently for $15
