How does this compare with the Samsung G70A 28inch 4K monitor for $588? I bought that one and it has a ton of firmware issues so I want to return it and get something else.

Would like to know that myself… since this has 2.1, it serves the purpose. G70a lacking hdr600 or upwards is the only reason for my hesitation otherwise a good option…same with this one, stuck at hdr400…someone owning both can only comment.. if you don't mind curved screens, go for G7 looks like the only legit monitor these days in 500-600 range

The MSI MAG281URF is $699. It has a built in KVM too. I have a MPG321UR and it is great. The HDR600 always runs at full brightness in Windows so I don't typically use it.
If choosing only between the Samsung and Acer, Samsung is the better brand IMO. Can you exchange it for another one?

The issue is not my panel in particular though... it's Samsung's incompetent firmware team. The monitor reports its native resolution as 2000x1000 (clearly some placeholder value). In addition, HDMI 2.1 and Freesync don't work in PC mode. In AV mode where these issues are fixed, you are capped at 120Hz and a bunch of additional options are disabled. You can override these with CRU or some other program, but I still haven't figured out why the display keeps blacking out for a second every 30 seconds when set to HDR in PC mode - maybe a replacement will fix that, but given the other issues are definitely not panel related, I'm disinclined to give Samsung another chance. BTW, a bunch of other Samsung displays are known to have faulty firmware as well (including super high end stuff like the 27inch 240Hz G7 and the Neo G9): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8T7pogOgS_M
Is this better than the Acer Nitro XV273K from Costco? This one seems to have better specs, but the Nitro has a much higher MSRP. Anyone know why the difference?
Has anyone actually bought this monitor? Can only find 1 review on it anywhere... thinking about getting it for the good price and all of its features.

The acer xv273k is bad imo. I returned it and got a samsung g7. 4k didn't really make a difference on a 27 inch better off saving on 1440p.
