That WAS a better deal, but is not relevant now unless one is willing to wait and take a chance that it reappears. But if one wants or needs the drill/driver kit AS WELL AS the ratchet, this is a good deal, compared to the other BOGO deal where they come out to $229, saving you $30 on the ratchet, which comes out to $61. If one only wants the drill/driver kit OR the ratchet, then the other deal's the way to go as this deal can't be hacked. It's all or none of these tools with this deal.

Yes, the best I've seen for the tool kit was 97 bucks. The lowest on the ratchet (Not Fuel) which some prefer over the Fuel was/is 85 I believe. Someone could chime in on that last part. So 199 isn't the best but we're talking by 15 bucks. So it's a good deal in my opinion especially if you can get 10% off

Why would anyone prefer this over the Fuel brushless version, other than being less expensive?

This is a good price for both the kit and ratchet if you need them right now. The fuel hammer drill and impact are awesome, and the ratchet works well. The 3rd gen high speed fuel feels like a lot better build quality and has the same size ratchet head, which was much larger on the 2nd gen brushless m12 ratchet.

As others have said this combo has been $179 (kit hackable to $97) for possibly it's lowest price late last year. For a "gotta have it now for work/big project" this is pretty great. If you want the lowest price, would be better off waiting, granted with all the money weirdness this might be the lowest for a while as well. If you're wanting to have it just to have, I'd get it, hold onto the receipt, then if something comes up within 90 days, repurchase and return this order.
