Well, the current price of the bare tool is $129, battery is $99, and charger is $35.

$129+$99+$35=$263 The math checks out.

Solid homeowner choice at this price. I think it's been this price pretty regularly since the holidays. In fact it was re-posted 20 days ago. Regardless, for those that are interested:

Real-world torque on this is about 240 ft-lbs. That's plenty for things like lug nuts and removing mower blades. You can't do drivetrain or heavy construction work with it, but if you do that kind of work, you know that already.

This guy tests the P261 and the new brushless P262 for real-world torque on his YT channel.

P261 test: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWeguH-2UJA

P262 test: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpxHkkzxeUE

Thorough reviews and scientific measurements with all the technical info (e.g. battery types) and real-world results.

TL;DR: The P262 brushless is more than twice as powerful, achieving 91% of claimed torque vs. 81% test achievement on the P261.

Thanks guys.. There are a lot of brands on Amazon but I can't trust them. I was debating between Ridgid and Ryobi. Now I think this one is enough for my wife in case she needs it on the road.

The last blemished item I bought from DTO was a Hedge Trimmer. It caught fire within 2 minutes. Like actual smoke and melting plastic.

The average lug nut should be tightened to roughly 100 ft-lbs, so even allowing for some stuckness this tool at 300 ft-lbs should handle them no problem. One caveat... not all impact wrenches provide the same torque in both directions, but I assume this one does.

Also something like this [harborfreight.com] can be used to install lug nuts. I recommend you err on the low side and tighten by hand.

Yes. Usually lug nuts torque of a car is only 100 ft lbs less. This is 300 ft lbs max.

How does one know they are setting lug nuts to the proper torque?
Is there a setting on this impact wrench?

used this to take off wheels recently.... worked very well. Got this from HD years ago at the same price. So it is probably a better deal today with the huge inflation.

300 ft/lb torque, NOT brushless. List price is very misleading. Okay deal if you needed the battery and charger.
Got a different brand with 4 amp-hr battery + charger, sockets and "300 ft-lb" 1/2" brushless motor impact wrench for $59.99 on Amazon Prime.

I bought this kit last time it was at this price. It's a fine tool for light duty applications, but it produces nowhere near 300 ft/lbs of torque. I've had difficulty loosening nuts that were tightened to 150 ft/lbs with a torque wrench.

If you don't plan to tighten/loosen anything beyond around 100 ft/lbs, this tool is fine. If you need more than that, keep looking.

Gotta buy a click type or digital torque wrench to set it to spec. This is for quick driving or removal of nuts.
