Buying a money order with the gift card essentially gets the cash off the gift card. Take the money order to your bank and deposit it. I had issues adding the gift card to my Paypal and Venmo which is why I went the money order route. My cash offer from GameStop was $140 less than the visa gift card. Most grocery stores and even Walmart offer money orders. Swipe the giftcard as debit and enter a pin number and you should be good to go.

I think the tax is on $500 so 100 + 7% or whatever your state tax is + 60 + 20 = 215 approx

90 days Service is not requirement, insurance may not apply to your account depend on store, you can try refuse it on the store, some of authorized store may refuse sell you the phone without insurance, corporate store may charge some fee without notice you as well.

As I said in previous thread, it not only depends on state tax rules, but also store rules. BestBuy charged tax for discounted price when I purchased a phone end of last year. But Metro charged tax for full price. Same state.

Total nonsense. The state has nothing to do with it. Stop- spreading rumors and find out the facts first.

It's not rumors. It's my real world experience. Stop spreading wrong information if you have no idea on what you are talking about.

I'm beginning to believe that even corporate stores, just like the sleazy authorized dealers, make up their own rules. The corporate store I visited insisted that I pay for insurance (Premium Handset Protection, @$12) in order to get the deal. They also marked my account as high security which meant that changes to my account have to be made in store by a manager! They never told me this when I purchased the devices. It was only when I got home that I found out since I couldn't access my account online! I called the 800 number and was told by a CSR to get back to the store to have my online access activated. When I got back to the store, a clerk asked why I wanted online access since I can come to the store to get everything done! I look at the dude and I was like, "You're kidding, right?" He said "Nope" and referred me to the store manager who dutifully granted my request for online access.

Also the corporate store, just like a sleazy authorized dealer, was busily up-selling customers on over-priced accessories, including chargers, screen protectors, and cases. I can say that I wasted an extra 20 minutes in the store because store clerks, even the manager, were busily "helping" customers who were ahead of me with picking and installing screen protectors and cases.

For new customers - When you purchase the device make sure to get your account PIN and security answer before you leave the store.

Payment breakdown:
Discounted device cost, $100
Monthly service charge, $45
Premium Handset Protection, $12
Total per device $157

Total for 2 devices, 2x157 $314
Plus tax on discounted device cost

No, 90 only happened when two lines open in same transaction, if purchase the phone one by one, doesn't matter same store or different store, system will automatically charge two time of $60, but you will have $30 remaining credit in your account.

You can get temporary pin from customer service, once you login to online account, you can change pin and reset security question, most of stores will set own pin and security question never tell me, some of stores will tell me PIN and doesn't tell me security question.

Wrong. Here in California, we pay full sales tax on the msrp. Our State sales tax varies a little by county, but 8-9% is the norm. Sales tax is collected if online or certainly in store and no escaping it.
