This post follows the steps posted by privater. I followed the instructions from their post for the Alienware M15 R6 Laptop, and they worked for this x15.

1. Register a Dell reward account if you don't have.
2. Apply for a Dell AAA 10% coupon here[dell.com], you don't need AAA membership, but require a valid Email address to receive coupon in seconds.
3. Click this link for this exact deal: Link [dell.com][dell.com] make sure it matches the description and list price is $1,959.99. Click add to cart.
4. Proceed to checkout, apply "DPA5" coupon.
5. Apply your Dell 10% off coupon.
6. Proceed to checkout and check expedited shipping for free.
7. Check first payment with Dell Financial Account. You can put $1 on Dell Financial Account to utilize the 5% coupon but charge other payment on your credit card if you have other deals like 10% from Amex.
8. Make sure the final price is $1,675.79 and you can get 3% from Dell rewards after delivery.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Love this design, and the x15 R2 looks better with 12th gen and super-fast memory. Hard to find codes that work on R2 though.

You can get the same laptop for $200 cheaper but with 16GB RAM here:

RAM is not upgradeable I think so you may want the 32GB

p.s. I am talking about the x15, not sure if the m15 r6 allows for ram upgrades

I had x15, but returned due to some issues:
1. 3070 is 110w TGP, 90w base + 20w dynamic boost, when cpu use more than 30w power, gpu tends to throttle around 100w.
2. 3070 is micron vram, less efficient and power hungry than Samsung
3. It's too thin, the thermal is not good even with 4 fan. my old m15 r4 is quieter.
4. memory is 1Rx16 and soldered, can't even replace to 2Rx8 to boost performance like others.

It's a thin laptop, but very heavy and large in width and height. I don't quite understand what would help if make a laptop so thin but still need a 16-17 inch bag to fit.

X15 is a thin form factor. More portable but it has to gimp its performance due to thermals.
The x15 uses a 110W 3070 vs a 130W M15 R6. You'll notice weaker gpu performance.

last year's normal prices, sadly this is a result of inflation, increased manufacturing costs, and new model/modern gpu demand. I'd expect it to settle back some if btc keeps dropping and/or eth finally migrates away from PoW. the r1 with 150W 3080 nets almost 60MHs with just ~113W to the card. pretty efficient, and you can take it to a coffee shop or wherever to mine with no electricity costs (compared to say a desktop 3080)

Also if they keep churning out new versions older ones will drop faster. these x17 r1s were full price only 4 months ago, even a week ago on ebay a few sold north of $3500 with same/lower specs than the $2988 one above. one of the new x17 r2 just sold yesterday for $4200.
