At this price/size, the hardware specs are obviously pretty limited. But on the plus side:

+ USB C charging (both left and right Type-C ports; AC adapter included)
+ Micro SD card reader
+ 2.2 lbs

Side note, I think Best Buy has the resolution wrong in the Specifications section (1600x768, should be 1366x768, as that's what the Description and every other listing for it show).

It will only be available initially on relatively expensive and powerful Chromebooks (8GB RAM, 11-gen Core i5). But it's possible it could trickle down to weaker x86 chips like this one, and it may be possible to use it with Box64 on ARM Chromebooks [boilingsteam.com] in the future.

Actually, you can already install Steam/Proton yourself (x86 only) without waiting for support, but it might have more issues than whatever the official Steam on ChromeOS is:

The existence of "gaming chromebooks" was inferred by the discovery of code added to support RGB keyboards, so I guess features like that would be added to them. Maybe some of them will have discrete GPUs? That would be funny.

I'm also looking to replace an old C720 (with a cracked screen), and passed on this particular model because of the screen:
- This has no touch screen.
- The has a 1600x768 11.6" screen vs the 1366x768 11.6" screen on the C720. This means less vertical screen space.

Depending on your C720's processor it could be about the same or a little faster then this N3350. Battery life will be way better in a new Chromebook. I find that the N4020 is about perfect for these cheap little 11 1/2 Chromebooks. The Lenovo 3 equipped with the N4020 is a perfect replacement for your old C720 especially if you don't need a touchscreen.
