This has a shadow light it appears.
Many people consider laser doohickys on saws unreliable and prefer shadow line.

I've used it for about 1.5yr to rehab a house. Working fantastically.
I have it sitting on a Ridgid universal miter saw stand. Whatever you get, I 100% recommend that stand.
The specs on the HD page say 4".

We are considering the newly designed Hercules on sale with the extended warranty. There is no shipping to a depot or none of that nonsense for repairs while you don't have a saw until returned. Whatever the problem, HF just hands you a brand new saw in the box for the duration of purchased warranty. But, like the OP, DeWalt and others, now old technology and leaning towards the Makita that takes up less floor space from the wall and arguably more accurate.... at more expense.
The LSA is/was nice, but 'lifetime' is subjective ----as in whenever they decide to quit the program that is third party. And if you have to box it up and ship it to a repair depot, what a pain. Meanwhile, the Ridgid users I know are saying the 'not warranted' excuses are increasing, while like others, weeks to months to get returned. Of course, if reasonably new, Home Depot may do an exchange.
As far as LED light, laser light, shadow cut, it can be confusing. Basically, if the saw says 'LED' like the OP, chances are and to be verified, it is shadow cut. I presumed shadow cut was a DeWalt patent, but now, many saws, including the mid-range have it with the old laser line technology leaving the building.
For what it is worth, besides the XPS light, the DeWalt DWS780 that now in it's 6th series, is no better than the now DWS779 in it's 3rd series and not as good as the 779 in it's 1st series. In fact, the internals are identical and for $50 to $75, you can add the XPS light to become a DWS780.
