Possibly look at Friends of Mineral Town instead as it's a remake of the original PS1/GBA Harvest Moon.

Stardew is possibly the best ever of the genre, particularly on PC with all the amazing mods you can get for both adding quality of life changes plus tons and tons of extra content.

A friend got me to play Rune Factory 4 recently and that was also pretty fun. Stardew is farming with a little combat, Rune Factory is combat with a little farming (plus waifus if you can handle it).

N64 was my favorite -- the last Harvest Moon (or Story of Seasons) title I actually enjoyed was Magical Melody on the GameCube and Wii. The rest have been sup-par, in my opinion.

Don't buy this. This isn't the Harvest moon games of old, it's a different developer and the games formally known as Harvest Moon now make the games under the name Story Of Seasons under a different publisher in the US.

My solution in the past has been to have her choose who I wind up with. In Stardew she told me to play as a woman, but then wanted me to marry Abigail, haha.
