So are you saying a "TD" is good or bad? A TD usually means a touchdown, right?
If you don't like Newegg or rebate cards, a similar model is available at Best Buy for $799.99 with no rebates for 11 more hours. It just has the i5-10500H instead of the i7-10750H CPU. It looks like the i5 is slightly more powerful, but uses more energy and generates more heat.
Even with a 75W RTX 3060, both still have a freakin 6GB RTX 3060 and a 10th Gen chip in a laptop for $800! It will so outperform any Gen chip with a laptop 3050 or 3050Ti that I'm pretty sure the bottleneck in this laptop will be the CPU and not the 3060.
Never owned an MSI product before so I need to read some reviews. But you'll be hard-pressed to find a new laptop with a 3060 in it for $800 if you're low on cash. Nice find!
Gotcha! Personally, I've never had a problem with Newegg. But if I had, I would probably avoid doing business with them again. I just wouldn't feel the need to vote down every deal that appears based on a specific vendor. But that's just me.
I got one of these. I did settle on the Best Buy version because I use the crap out of the Best Buy credit card. Cashed in $295 BB Rewards last month on one of the ASUS TUF DASH laptops with the 95w RTX 3070 to replace an aging DELL 15 5577 I purchased here with a SlickDeals rebate in 2017. My son loves the new one. The screen is great and the FPS on the games he plays is incredible, even with the 4-core 11th Gen chip. That deal was voted down, but that machine is a beast! Well-built too...
I'm sure another son will be pleased with this MSI as an upgrade. I already had another $100 in BB Rewards in 1 month that I cashed in tonight for it. And as Elite Plus they give me a month and a half to return anything if I'm not happy with it. It's s nice perk when you're upgrading technology instead of the standard 15 days.
Thanks for all the hard work you've been doing here! I've been in the market to upgrade two laptops for a couple of months now and you post a lot of great deals. The TUF DASH and this MSI were in my price range and have some nice specs. And you do a lot of research and are always quick to answer questions, which is a nice bonus when someone is considering a posted SlickDeal.
Thanks a lot and appreciate the good words for my effort, which is now becoming a rarity in these days.

Agreed with every word you said here. By the way, TD on that other post means Thumbs down. He was saying this post will receive TD because of those reasons.

Man a 3060 for around $800 have not seen a good deal like this in awhile.... primarily its all been 3050's at this price point.
Looks like a great laptop. I dont mind newegg personally, I still use them and when I did have a problem within the last year their customer service took care of it. Even though they were reluctant at first.
My only beef is I hate rebates so avoid as much as possible just for that fact, not that you dont get them, cause I got mine all eventually, I just hated going through the process.
I would stick with the Costco one. Better processor. No need to upgrade memory (yet). Don't have to deal with rebates. Costco's 4 year warranty (if you used Costco credit card). Better graphics card (95W vs. 75W)
If it was without the rebate most definitely the best bang, but if you dont mind waiting on rebates yes have not seen a price this good on a 3060 in awhile.

This or Costco MSI Katana? I got the Katana but wonder if worth returning to get this. Seems difference is 11th gen i7 and 8GB more ram.
If your not counting the rebate your paying $200 more for not much more, the only thing really worth it about the costco version is their warranty and return policy.

Someone tell me why this would suck for VR games, and I should get a $3000 desktop instead.
I do have a $3000 gaming desktop and can tell you that this would NOT suck for VR, lol. It would handle it fine as long as your expectations are within limits. Also it looks like the newest gen VR headsets will be a lot more focused on stand alone so unless you are a die hard 1% might be ditching the need for a laptop or desktop in the future in general. The Oculus has proven very versatile when it comes to VR and that is nowhere near as powerful as this.
