Anyone who previously used TurboTax (federal + state) have good things to say about H&R?
Or are they literally the same?
I only did multiple states once, back when I was in college. But I'll have to help someone work that out again this year.
As for getting the "trick" to work, I'm assuming you can activate one copy on more than one computer. The license is primarily limited by how many federal efiles you can do (5). I've never really understood the purpose of the 5 efiles unless you can share it with friends who may or may not be in different states.

Isn't the problem with multiple states that they may have questions related to how much you paid in the other state? Does it properly handle those questions when you do the two states on different computers?

It seems like you took this personally, but this is a forum to spread knowledge about relevant information/deals and that's exactly what I was doing. If you're happy with H&R Block, then great! But there's no need to get upset because other people have different needs/preferences.

I seem to remember there was a trick to getting State twice for free, but don't remember it; two different computers??
Enter info and complete only the federal portion of the taxes and save the file before downloading state version. This way you can share the same federal files on 2 different computers before initiating state taxes.
