For any other watches it will go just as fast as the older USB-A Charger. Series 7 & SE bought today will come with this USB-C Charger, while Series 3 comes with the older USB-A. If you don't have a Series 7 the benefit is being able to use this with existing USB-C Bricks (ie. Travel) or something like an Anker 40W 2x USB-C brick.
