I now only use my main stove (gas powered) for stir fry. Everything else absolutely rocks on the induction. Boils water sooner, doesn't heat up kitchen, and does not burn surrounding stuff if you ever drop a towel or wooden spoon on your range. The timer is also great for setting low-and-slow boils when you step away from the kitchen for a few hours.

You do need ferromagnetic cookwear. Cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum/copper cookwear with steel disc layers or disc.

You may have decades of aluminum cookwear, as I have, if you grew up in the kitchen.

1800w. 160-440°F. The fan is a little noisy and there is also the chance of a high pitch whining noise, which is normal for most induction stove tops. You need a pot/pan with a magnetic bottom to use induction.

This is a good deal and is totally worth it for people like me trying to avoid heating up the house more than necessary when cooking during the summer or for anyone trying to get into induction cooking.

This is a great product to use, especially for a first time induction owner. It will be powerful enough and it's easy to clean.

We primarly use these single plug in induction cookers instead of our normal resistive stovetop. They tend to last 3-5 years and we just keep buying new ones to replace them since they're so cheap. Normally pay 50-60 dollars for a similar one so this is a really good deal. Probably pick it up and stash it until ours bites the dust.

It's not going to be as powerful as an induction burner fed by a 40 amp 240 volt breaker. BUT, with the exception of boiling a large pot of water, it is rare to actually use the full power available in an 240v induction burner. For most cooking tasks, 1800w is sufficient.

Just bought this for $25 last month. Used it for hotpot and liked how easy it was to turn on and clean. Didn't like having the cord (as expected) and turning it back on twice because it shuts down due to overheating.

I don't have this specific one, I picked up what looks to be a very similar Rosewill. Note the magnets on these are a mere 4" or so in diameter, so only the very center of your cookware is getting heat. For clad aluminum or copper which spreads the heat, it's not great but workable. For cast iron, which does not spread heat the same way, you'll burn the food in the middle while the sides of the pan are cold.

You could avoid high pitch whining noice by using a thick and heavy pot/pan with a magnetic bottom .
