Went into my local Walmart today (Riverside, CA) and saw this. Extremely great deal (online price is $239.00) if your local Walmart also has it for the same price. As always with B&M this is YMMV. I added the link of the item from the Walmart price.

AGAIN, THIS IS B&M AND YMMV

Has been on clearance for like 2 months now. Most store that has this price (or lower) dont really have inventory, and those with inventory dont have it on sale.

Of all the power wheels, this dune racer model is probably the best. It seats two, and it has lots of leg room for your kids to get older in. So, they'll be able to use it longer than the other models.

Anyone that snags on of these should also strongly consider getting a kit to adapt their choice of 18v batteries to it. I got a Makita adapter that took about 10 minutes to splice in and it was well worth the $15. It actually moves at a nice speed for the older kid to drive and watching the whiplash hit the younger kid in the passenger seat is fun for adults too. Just makes sure you keep the batteries charged and ready. A 5 Ah battery might last half an hour but charges much faster than the regular one in these.

Would you mind linking the adapter and any instructions for this. Thank you

I don't really have instructions but recommend having a wire stripper/crimper. If nothing else, some scissors are all you need. I just snipped the existing ones, took a bit of the plastic wire coating off of all the wires, and attached them together with some appropriately sized caps but electrical tape would be fine too.
This is the adapter [amazon.com] I bought
Caps come in a bunch of sizes and styles but generally look like this. [homedepot.com]

We've had one of these for years - started with our (now) 12 year old DD when she was maybe 4 or 5, then through a (now) 8 year old and probably onto our (now) 4 year old boys soon. It's a tank.

I did a battery upgrade awhile back though, nothing more a drag than the kids being entertained only for the battery to die. I chose the higher Ah route as opposed to using power tool batteries - yes you can overvolt powerwheels, but if you're not careful you can destroy the gearing (it's plastic) and draining your expensive power tool batteries so rapidly also damages them.

You're right though, having a slew of power tool batteries with decent Ah, compact and quickly chargeable is a great option. Older kids are probably able to change out the batteries themselves as well.

For the shoe you can buy an "adapter" online or if you have an extra charger kicking around (seems I get one with every tool so I have a few brand new ones still in plastic), just cannibalize that and rewire it so that the +/- leads go to where they should. It's very simple.
