Seems like a pretty good deal as the s803 by themselves are 139 currently. Average price on ebay for s801 pair is about 110, and for the s81 it's about 90. So if you just want the s803's then if you're willing to do the ebay legwork, you can get them free.

i've only researched the s803's but they seem to get pretty good reviews, and they are also much more stylish (imo) than other speakers under $200. so they have that that rare combination of great sound, great price, and stylish. they also have a front bass port which allows you to place them closer to a wall (which mattered to me).

note: you need to pair these with an amplifier. if you just want 2 or 2.1 channels, there are multiple highly rated bluetooth amplifiers from Fosi on amazon for under $100 (one of which was the top recommendation from wirecutter). Not sure about 5 channel amps. one advantage of passive speakers it they don't get obsoleted by wireless, connection, etc. technology, only the amp does.

these are also atmos-upgradeable.

Well, dang. I just checked camels3 and you are exactly right. I'm actually really surprised they are still in stock and just getting posted considering this is the lowest price they have ever been on Amazon.
That being said, random 10-point profile, chill out in general and consider adding relevant information instead of looking for the odd chance of feeling cool because you can make a d*** head comment on Slickdeals. Adding some kind of product insight on build and sound quality on a good deal/product isn't shill. It's why comments exist on these posts.

SlickDeal audiophiles are ruthless, but honestly the cheapest name brand ones you can find. If you're going to skimp anywhere, the speakers should be the last piece to skimp on. Good speakers can last decades, while receivers have electrical parts that can become obsolete and/or fail. Thus it has historically been best to get the speakers right.

That said, Jamo makes solid speakers - especially for the money. They do have a slight tinny sound in the mid/high range, but you have to really be paying attention to such things to notice. And at a sub-$200 price point, what are you expecting? Even adding an amp/receiver and a sub, you're better off with this than going down the soundbar route.

These actually get pretty good reviews for being so cheap. Paired with a cheap receiver these would sound way better then any sound bar. Adding a sub would make a decent little surround system.

You can see that he's staff. That second one has 21 pages of comments. It's hard to tell whether it always had negative upvotes. And neither of those posts is related to jamo. It is weird that they all made Frontpage, but most or all of them have a lot of upvotes. I can't see the screen shots.

If you want posts specifically for Jamo, there are plenty (And usually front page). i only posted the last 10 thread, go further back and there are many more. if you search for klipsch you will find at least as many (if not more) from the same SD editor for Adorama items.

Wasn't implying sponsored posts didn't exist. It was a genuine question. It still doesn't seem like there is any special correlation with adorama or jamo such that one should be suspicious of any post with adorama or jamo in it. I agree that it's weird that user's posts seem to all get super upvoted, but I don't have any connection to them or to sd, and their choice to label users as staff enables you to identify when sd is posting a deal.

Seriously? There were bookshelf, center channel, height, floor speakers, and subwoofers. You didn't have to buy all of them and it shouldn't be that hard to consider only comparing like for like.

Alright I'm a huge jamo fan as I purchase my first set the s606 5.0 set from slickdeals nearly 12 years ago now. I'm just dissatisfied with these. The center is not great. It's just no getting around it. The bookshelf speakers lack mids. Great bass. Really great. Highs are great. But it's hard to describe it's just lacking.

I've been rocking the 5.1 Martin Logan 5.1 from slickdeals purchased 9 years ago and I just switched back to them after a days use with the Jamos. I get they're only bookshelf speakers but I expected them to have better mids and lackluster bass. Got the complete opposite.

I spent a day tinkering around and switched between a dozen movies and tv shows all with Dolby atmos and 5.1 support. Bottom line I'm just disappointed.

Receiver is a denon AVR S740H paired with a SVS subwoofer PB-1000.

been using the s803 speakers (not using the center or rear at all) for awhile now and like them quite a bit. compared to q acoustics 3020 and jbl 530 and monoprice 65rt. the q sound much more flat and maybe slightly fuller for midrange. the jamo's have boosted bass and treble and are more fun to listen to if slightly less audiophile-ideal. they still sound like high quality speakers they just have a less flat response. the q's are great too, though. guitar sounds more realistic on the jamo's but piano sounds more realistic on the q's. vocals are slightly fuller on the q's but more airy on the jamo's. will be difficult to return the q's as they are superior with some types of music (imo), but the jamos were such a great deal and i actually enjoy their sound signature more. the monoprice have no bass and sound worse than my portable bluetooth speakers. jbls have been kinda strange, i can't figure out the placement such that the bass is projected forward, so i can't hear any bass when from my seating position. will see if i can sort that out. if so i might keep both the jbls and the jamos.
