Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it
Some people don't live in a house.
Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

I have data sims for several chromebooks that have SIM slots on a postpaid plan...when I transfer a SIM to a hotspot (free Franklin promo) the data works, but slow..I was told on reddit that these tablet data sims are limited to about 512k when the device detected is not a tablet/laptop, and would eventually get zapped. ymmv.

What if you used the hotspot function from the tablet?

If I understand the deal correctly from comments

A) you must have (verified) business account with TM. With SS (sole prop.) also but goes as hard inquiry on credit

B) you must buy a tablet or in your cart

C) you will see $10 plan ONLY when a tablet is in cart

D) select TI or TE, but TI not available with free tab

E) pay $20 for Sim and Tab shipment. And possibly $30 one time activation fee after receipt (and device tax)

F) $8.xx monthly credit will apply for Tab for 24 months

G) must keep the plan active for min. 24
Months for free tab.

H) for TI plan, to save on taxes (could be as high as $8 monthly), must buy a tablet (other than "free") from TM

I) BYOD is not available to subscribe $10 unlimited plan (neither TI nor TE)

Please confirm and/or correct above. Thanks

How does having an EIN affect your SSI or SSID? Got an family member who's on SSID or SSI I believe, and wants to do this.

Since it's a business line you may be able to sign up with your ein instead of ssn. Haven't tried but seems likely

If we use EIN, it would be business credit, correct? Are they also asking SSN with EIN?

Are you really paying $240 for a $129 tablet when you're getting the $10/mo tablet internet service included during those 24 months?

Will the sim work in Surface with LTE or Mobile Hotspot device? Will it roam overseas anyone know? I could gift the tablet but keep the sim with 10 plan which will be free after Amex Biz platinum cellular credit.

Hook up only applies to phone cellular, not tablet lines.

The message you are responding to, clearly stated if someone, who otherwise doesn't need tablet only data, goes for this deal would be tricked into paying more in a long run for something he could have lived without. And he is smart saying that even more so because tablet internet access charges seem to be going down anyway

I have tried using one of those free line sims in my iPad but for some reason the data plan is ridiculously slow (feel like it's 3G speed not even LTE). I don't know if it's the iPad or just the fact that you aren't supposed to use the SIM in a tablet. The sim works perfectly fine when I put it into my Pixel 4A 5G giving me 5G speeds. For reference my iPad is a iPad Pro 12.9 3rd gen (2018, ATT version) so it isn't compatible with 5g only LTE.

Anyone else had similar experiences
This is a well known thing with T-Mobile, if you use the free line SIMs in anything that isnt a phone they throttle you to "3G" speeds which I think its 600 kbps.

Once somebody has the plan connected.
Can they check the QCI level? I want to see the priority and speed of data. If it is QCI 8 or 9 then it's not as attractive.

Here is how to do it

I believe you can use EIN. And no, you wouldn't need SS if you can provide EIN or proof of business. On the page, they give you choice to use one or the other but not both

I see this on the account opening page.

"I authorize T-Mobile to use the information I provide to obtain my credit history from credit reporting agencies, which may affect my credit rating."

Can someone confirm, if they pull personal credit for new business account with EIN?
