They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)
Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.
So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it
soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

I'm up to 18.37GB data and 4.95GB hotspot (1GB+ with the tablet USB tether and 3GB+ TMOHS1 wifi) at the moment.
Hope your test goes well.

Tried both PC and Mac but it doesn't show up as a device.
A driver is needed for Windows to recognise it.
The T-Mobile Magenta data plan SIM card registers with the hotspot correctly, gets a valid APN, and SIM status says "Non-Verizon SIM T-Mobile"
- iPhone 11 on Inseego 8800L Wifi (Verizon 5G data plan) - 126 up / 59.8 down
- iPhone 11 on Inseego 8800L Wifi (T-Mobile Magenta Unlimited data plan) - 21.8 down / 6.28 up
- iPhone 11 on Inseego 8800L Tethered via USB to a WiFi Travel Router (T-Mobile Magenta Unlimited data plan) - 32.8 down / 9.08 up

Great thread with lots of useful info!
I have read every post and still a bit confused as I am not as tablet savvy as the rest of you. I currently have the ATT $20 unlimited tablet plan with the ATT sim card in a legit unlocked Nighthawk 1100. I can tether laptops, tablets, etc. with no problem, no throttling, and it has worked great. The question is if I get the TM sim and put it in the unlocked Nighthawk, will everything work the same (tethering, etc) as on the ATT? Maybe Dr. Pepper might chime in as he had the ATT plan... Thank you for the help in clarifying.

You can try to get like TMOHS1, it is new hotspot, T-Mobile sends for Test Drive. Google "t-mobile test drive" and order the free 30 day free trial. Test Drive hotspot is yours to keep and like no payment needed from you, not even credit card, etc. Just home address.
People said like T-Mobile thinks TMOHS1 is a phone, cause in their database it is added under phone, so it allows it, but in Nighthawk it knows it is hotstpot.
I guess one can do like IMEI Repair/IMEI Change on Nighthawk to like match a Tablet but it is kinda grey area. Like T-Mobile will think it is Tablet and might give you full speed, I didn't try it out cause I still feel weird about changing IMEI, people say it is illegal in other countries but currently it is not illegal in USA. 'Murica, Freedom.
I have ATT $20 tablet plan too and it way too good, never gonna let it go lol.
