The multiple ways of using this $10 line for home internet are:
1. T-Mobile Gateway + Cudy N300 or X6 which are wifi only routers to mask hotspot usage with TTL set on the external wifi router. You can use other wifi routers for this purpose but there's a menu page in the Cudy routers which makes setting TTL easy - Courtesy waterchange
1.1 Cudy router like Cudy LT500 or LT18 or the 5G P8 work as a single device with modem + wifi router. Work well for home internet. Nice thing about the Cudy modems is easy TTL (and imei magic if necessary). - Courtesy waterchange
2. M2100 hotspot device - Hit or a miss - native out of the box but less reliable
3. Orbic 5G hotspot device - more reliable than the m2100, however some people have reported throttling after 1st couple of months
4. Gateway + Project Genesis - works most reliably
5. TMOHS1 - ~ 30-50 mbps out of the box, no TTL update required
6. Tmobile Franklin - ~30-50 mbps with TTL update - the most reliable as of right now, however limited speed.
7. M2000 won't pull data from anywhere.
8. GL.iNET Spitz GL-X3000NR easier to use than Cudy and better performance but expensive. Great form factor and performance. Presets for T-Mobile TTL settings and advanced cell features like tower/band lock. External antennas.
9. M3000B works out of the box with T-Mobile version. Has battery preservation features and ethernet port. Some users say to switch 5G mode to NSA if the hotspot restarts frequently in your area.
Add/update if you have more/better info.

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)
Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.
So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it
soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

More info:
Plugged the TMOHS1 into my Gl.inet Mango, and it's unthrottled. Popped the SIM into my A7 Lite tablet, and it's unthrottled.
So basically, tethered to a Mango router you'll get unlimited. Same in the tablet itself. Not so much in the TMOHS1 natively.
1. The price difference of $10 (Tax Included) vs. $20+tax/fees, you get what you paying for
2. Not every business is going to be happy if employees are on YouTube or Netflix at the workplace
3. I see the USB tethering from a mobile hotspot to a wifi router as an advantage. This is going to be useful for people who work from home. You may be able to do it with the ATT plan too but you have to enter the gray area of changing the IMEI number on the hotspot. ATT has suspended the user's account after using the sim on a hotspot.
4. Being able to use the SIM card and plan abroad, not only in Mexico and Canada, is also an advantage.
5. Being able to use the SIM card and plan on another phone or tablet is also an advantage. ATT has suspended the user's account after using the sim on another device.
It really depends on what you are going to use this plan for. If you want to use this data plan to replace your home internet, then I am not sure if a $10 plan is a good idea. Maybe only for some
Also, this sim card will work on other mobile hotspots too as long as you know how to change the settings

I am adding pics below, I think need to be on desktop to view it. We were thinking T-Mobile thinks it is phone and not hotspot so we can use this table SIM in TMOHS1 and keep using it forever unthrottled. But, fbueller said like it counts as hotspot and they have throttled him.
I read another post like someone said there is way to change IMEI and Change TTL on TMOHS1 to like tablet. I didn't try or will do cause like if T-Mobile cancels my line (maybe for breaking Terms and Conditions), I need to pay $200 for tablet. Maybe if you don't get tablet and get just the SIM card, you don't need to worry so much.

I am getting throttled hard bro, I am getting like 1.2 Mbps on Netflix and Youtube. Look at https://slickdeals.net/f/15673165-10-month-t-mobile-unlimited-tablet-line-10?src=SiteSearchV2Algo&p=... . I am using 1.1.1.1 Warp VPN, it is free and with it, it resolves my netflix throttling.
I saw on Reddit someone put their SIM in iPhone 13 Pro and was getting 5G and like 500 Mbps down.

I recommend getting just the SIM and putting it in your phone. Also, texting and T-Mobile Tuesday work also. Unlimited texting lol. Can use like google voice or textnow or something to make calls over cellular data also, it's crazy good deal for me. I see some people like trading stuff from T-Mobile Tuesday, I think like this week they gave out like $2 Dunking Donuts promo Gift card (expires in 4 days or something). People will sell it for like say $1 Amazon Gift Card or like maybe 2 of $2 Dunking Donuts Promo card for $1 Amazon Gift Card. Maybe not worth your time, but still it's something.

Also any way to request testdrive hotspot now - looks like the address is not eligible anymore.

Native Hotspot from tablet is full speed right? I am gonna keep it for Hurricane emergency. I am from New Orleans and last year we had no power for like 10 days, most cell towers were town too cause towers also have no power, i think T-Mobile was running their towers with like generators. Still somehow booked hotel in Alabama with my moms T-Mobile phone and went there. I was using my ATT tablet sim in hotspot, it was very helpful.
From the plan description:
Video typically streams on smartphone/tablet at DVD quality (480p) unless HD pass is activated.
