Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it

Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

your router need to run custom firmware first. In my case, i followed this guy with merlin firmware and used his script to change TTL. working great so far

OK, found the easy way to do it for cheap. No need to mess with this programming stuff.

For those that want an easy solution for cheap, just get a cudy router, update to latest firmware, and you'll have the option to change ttl right there as a setting. I confirmed and it's working without using the tethering data.

Easiest hack I've ever done.

Enjoy everyone while it lasts. Now that the secret is out, they might patch the loophole

Are you talking about a Cudy modem router? Which one you got for it to work? Thanks.

I use the Cudy LT450 and Cudy LT500 routers myself. Bought four of them for $50 to $70 used (Amazon, Facebook marketplace, Mercari, etc. Works great with this plan after setting TTL to 64. The Cudy LT18 has a much better cellular modem but is in the ~$400 range.

After 50gb does it then deprioritize to a slower speed? Or is it still okay enough to run? I ran my tethered data to the 10gb limit and now it's getting like 256kb after the tethering limit.

Thanks in advanced.

There's no forced slowdown after 50gb however if your tower is crowded, your traffic will be deprioritized which in my case hasn't resulted in any noticeable difference,.

You are correct that after using 10gb of hotspot data that it slows you down.

What speeds are you getting with the 450 and 500?

At my house with good cell signal I'm getting 50 to 60 Mbps down and 28 Mbps upload. Faster is always better but this is plenty fast for most of what I need to do online; I'm not even sure I'm willing to spend even $200 on a better router to get 4x the download speeds as that wouldn't change my internet experience. If anyone does go this route, you must manually go through each LTE band and run a speed test to settle on the band that gives you the best performance.

For reference, my 5G phone gets 280 Mbps down and 24 Mbps upload sitting right next to the router in a window.

I have a cudy lt500 coming today. Any advice on setting it up? From your quotes I've seen to set TTL to 64 and to run through each lte band. Is their an online guide where I can learn how do this? Thanks!

1. You might have to update firmware
2. Log into device (192.168.10. 1 or something like that. It's on the router)
3. Go to TTL options and just choose 64 and save.

That's it

How much did you get it for?

As 'huge' mentioned, I always update the firmware. For the LT500, you can find the latest firmware here: https://www.cudytech.com/lt500_software_download

As for a guide, I haven't looked for one but that doesn't mean there isn't one out there; google search is your best bet. It's all pretty easy though. Log into your router at "cudy.net". To set TTL, go to Advanced Settings > TTL > Custom Settings and set the value to "64" for T-Mobile. This TTL setting is all you need to do to mask router/wifi data as on-device data.

To test out each LTE band and choose the best one, go to General Settings > 4G > choose Band Select at which point you can choose one more more LTE bands. T-Mobile uses bands 2, 4, 12, 66, 71 (i.e. skip bands 5, 13, 14). Choose a band at a time and run a speed test. Then set the router to whatever band is fastest for you.

fwiw, in Advanced Settings, I also turned off IPv6.
