Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it

Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

Any speed test? T-Mobile test drive LTE is around 20MB for me, wondering if 5G gives any significant boost in performance. I actually force LTE in my iPhone, which most of the time gives me better speed than 5G (LTE can go up to 200mbs)
I only get around 20mb for 5G connection on m2100 in my home, but iPhone 12 have 200mb download speed (Showing 5g UC on signal bar).
Is this normal?

That's my wonder as well, doesn't seem to get much better performance than T-Mobile free test drive

My M2100 gives me consistently better speeds than my TMOHS but slower than directly using it in my iPad Mini with 5G.

Search the thread for my previous speed test results.

try on Netgear Nighthawk MR1100 unlocked AT&T and it works. It didn't work in the beginning but after I activate it on Samsung Tablet, it works...
it will pull hotspot data off mr1100 wifi connection. at least it does on mine. only way to get native data is connect through router with ttl setting changed

Speed depends on the location and band. At one spot, same spot, I did a test. On my 5G unlocked phone I'm getting faster speeds on LTE than 5G. Under 100. Same speed as TMOHS1, close to 40. But I'm getting over 100 5G on the gateways, up to 400. Speed is very band dependent these days. Also to note, if I move the gateway ten feet away, I lose about 100 in speed

On a side note, I tested the 5g21 and Kvd21 about a foot apart. I'm getting more or less the same performance. The 5g21 seems a little faster though and it's cheaper on eBay. I would go for the 5g21 if I was to buy a gateway
(I tested against the Verizon gateway too. Verizon doesn't peak as high, but seems more consistent. Overall tmobile performance is better from my tests, but again, it is very location dependent)

I've fallen behind on this deal. Shortly after it launched, there was a way to do it online. I didn't get instant approval to open for my (very very small LLC) business. I got a message / letter saying to come into the store with my EIN letter or something to that effect I think to verify existence of my business. I got busy and just never got around to it. I'm sure that my original attempt to open was long ago closed out, so I'm starting at square one again. It looks like there is no longer a way to do this online. Is the store the best bet? I live in a rural area where the employees are almost guaranteed not to have ever heard of this (nobody had ever heard of the Insider Hookup deal when I went into the store like a month and change after that deal launched lol). Is giving them the SOC the best way to get them to figure it out and get in and out in a reasonable amount of time? Are they still running the free tablet promo, or is that over? I don't care about getting locked into 2 years - I can't envision a reason I wouldn't want to continue paying $10/line for this. I'm looking to do two tablet lines at this $10/mo deal. Doable?

I tried reading through the Wiki and the last couple pages of the thread, but I still wasn't 100% sure. I see what most people seem to be using these SIMs for, but in my case I just legit want tablets with unlimited data.

Thanks for any help!

Call them. I called a few times until one CSR knew exactly what he needed to do

Try calling them at 800-937-8997 and order. If they don't know the offer, cut the call and call again so you get another rep.

I did it back in March 2022 and I signed up online with SSN. I signed up under Sole proprietorship option, it only asked me SSN, nothing else.

I did buy Samsung A7 Lite tablet with another new line, 3 weeks ago, there was few issues like initially they had put wrong promo code so it would cost me $50 and only $150 in credits over 2 years (instead of costing me $0 and $200 in credits over 2 years), T-Mobile Tforce on twitter fixed it for me later (Take out T962 promo code and put T964 in as Promo code (they had to wait 48 hours in-between) but still. Also, they had added Norton Security which costs extra $5/month, I had to remove it and got charged prorated for it. I was charged $35 activation fee and $16 in taxes for $200 Tablet so almost $51 at time of ordering.

I heard you can activation fee waived if you call in and order, I had ordered it the tablet online via chat.

Much harder to open using an EIN number... I went to the store and they were pretty useless. I ended sign up on my SSN instead.

Damn, you got me all excited. No way to adjust on-device TTL on the MR1100, I assume?

not on mr1100. you have to use separate router with ttl changed. or get m2100 hotspot pulls native data directly

Funny enough, my m2100 just arrived when you typed this. Yes, getting 100MBps speed over 5G with 2 bars of native data. Sweet. Picked it up for $100, got a deal.

only thing i dont like about m2100 is you cant run it without battery. you need to keep battery in at all time and thats bad for battery lol.
