Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it

Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

Ok, I see it. Another alternative is just use Google Voice. Are you using a Samsung phone? With Band Selector app - I can make TMobile primary and other sim primary for calls/texts. This feature is probably not hidden on Pixel or IPhone.

H2O also has $60 unlimited talk/text for year
Do you its link?
Thanks

I placed the SIM card into my phone and it can pull data. When I use my gateway in other locations in the city, I continue to get "no signal" even though the T-mobile map says I have 5G coverage everywhere.

I took the gateway to a T-Mobile store for a replacement (which I knew wasn't really possible because I bought it brand new on eBay from a 3rd party). They told me that the gateway won't be able to receive signal because there is no home address associated with it. Does anyone know if it's true that I'm supposed to register the KVD21 to my account for it to work or something along those lines? If that's the case, do you know how to do that? I thought all this time, it was just a matter of inserting the SIM card for the gateway to work like you do with a phone.

I bought a new KVD21 on eBay too and it works with no problems. Could it be that yours is blacklisted?

I don't believe the $10 SIM is locked to a single device.

My T Mobile home internet SIM would not work when inserted into the TMOHS1. Therefore, I believe this SIM is coded to a single device.

Have you tested a T Mobile phone SIM with the Arcadyan? If it does not pull data, then you may have a bad unit.

I bought a gateway new in a sealed box from Facebook marketplace and it works perfectly with my tablet sim. Yours is eather damaged or blacklisted.

Home Internet sim is not tied to single device. Mine worked right away in a different gateway (eBay purchase).

I personally don't use text messaging that much, but yes I agree that it's pretty annoying to have to download Mint messages through switching the primary SIM to back and forth.

As for the default SIM for calling new (or existing) numbers, I think I accidentally found a solution the other day while experimenting with other calling apps. Below is what I did to make my default calling SIM as Mint while T-mo is the primary SIM for mobile data:
  • Download "Phone by Google" from the Play Store
  • Open the installed app and make it default for calling - this will be temporary.
  • Press the 3 vertical dots on the top right and go to Settings
  • Select "Calling accounts" under General section
  • Change "Make calls with" to Mint eSIM (or whichever you want to make the default)
  • Uninstall the "Phone by Google" app
  • Open Samsung's default phone app and type in some numbers from the dialer. Voila! You'll see that the Mint eSIM is now set as the default.

It seems that the Google phone app is changing the default calling account permanently by doing above. I couldn't find such settings in the Samsung phone app.
hug thanks! any reason why you'd not keep the Google phone app? It actually looks better?

Yes, Samsung Galaxy S22. AFAIK, Band Selector app does not work with the recent Android OS updates.

Thanks for the H2O suggestion, but it seems that only iPhones are compatible with their eSIM plans.
Band Selector seems to work for more network settings... Not for actual band selection

My $25 T Mobile home internet SIM will not connect to the internet when used with a TMOHS1 or an unlocked T Mobile Iphone SE 3. There are reports about the $10 SIM working in a phone. Therefore, I suspect that the T Mobile home internet SIM is programmed to operate only with the Nokia, Arcadyan, or Sagemcom devices.

The TMHI sim card is definitely not tied to one IMEI, which is what you suggested in your previous post. It may very well be that it is provisioned to only work in 5G gateways and not in phones/tablets/hotspots but you can definitely pop it out of one gateway and put it back into another and it works right away.

I agree! The free SIM that's shipped with TMOHS1 would not run inside the Arcadyan or the unlocked Iphone SE 3. This $10 SIM is probably the most versatile since it is compatible with the Nokia, Arcadyan, Sagemcom, and various cell phones.

Has anyone recently tested the $10 SIM with the TMOHS1?

You're welcome! I just don't like adding another app when I have one, and I'm more used to the Samsung phone app.

Not recently, but worked when I last used it.
