Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it

Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

I am using the sim for data in a Samsung phone. Samsung has crippled US phones because they bend the knee to the big 3 carriers and its impossible to set default SMS without using a test CSC or international phone. This makes it very easy to send a text from the wrong sim (ie the tablet number) and people I text are like WTF is this. So I prefer to disable texting on that sim and if I send by accident I get an error that the text failed and I can resend with my correct sim.
Why don't you juat set a Sim to default text app and another one to the other text app.. so you won't be mess up the #s

Not 100% sure how to do this but every 3rd party texting app free versions I have not liked. I like to stick with Samsung or Google Messages

I have tested this after my hotspot speed throttled to 600kbps. Works like charm.

Windows Instructions
1. Open Powershell (Search Powershell).
2. type
Code:
python
to check installed or not (If its not installed, windows will open app store download it, once the download is completed type python to make sure its installed).
3. Download the zip file from https://github.com/parker-stephen...s/main.zip and unzip it.
4. go to unzipped location in powershell using cd.
5. install the requirements by executing command:
Code:
pip install -r requirements.txt
6. then run the bellow command follow the prompts.

example

Code:
C:\Users\\Downloads\TMOHS1-Root-Utility-main>python ./rootScript.py -v

Verbose mode enabled.

Enter your weblogin password:

ensure that your device reconnects to the hotspot's network.

If you are running the exploit wirelessly, the connection may drop.
Remember to reconnect to your hotspot's WiFi once it reappears.
This may take up to a minute.

The exploit removed the root password of your device. It is STRONGLY recommended to set a custom root password.
Your device will be EXTREMELY INSECURE if you do not.

Would you like to set a custom root password? (Y/n):

Changing root password.
IMPORTANT NOTE: the password will be sent insecurely over telnet,
so you should manually change it later over ADB-USB if you are concerned about security.

Sent command via telnet: passwd root

Enter new password:
Confirm new password:
Root password successfully updated.
### Options ###
        1) Change root password
        2) Enough with this script BS, give me a shell!
        3) Enable ADB
        4) Enable ADB - Persistent through reboot (somewhat experimental)
        5) Enable FTP server for / on port 21 - DO NOT LEAVE OPEN
        6) Remove OMA-DM bootstrap (essentially disables firmware updates, recommended)
        7) Enable mood lighting (look at the battery LED)
        8) Mask hotspot data as "on-device" data
        9) Reboot
        10) Quit

        Enter option: 8
Sent command via telnet: echo "iptables -t mangle -I POSTROUTING -o rmnet_data0 -j TTL --ttl-set 64" > /etc/init.d/ttl.sh; echo "ip6tables -t mangle -I POSTROUTING -o rmnet_data0 -j HL --hl-set 64" >> /etc/init.d/ttl.sh; chmod 755 /etc/init.d/ttl.sh; ln -s /etc/init.d/ttl.sh /etc/rc5.d/S98ttl

Added TTL rules to mask hotspot data as normal "on-device" data. Will take affect on reboot.

can this setup enough to work and stream? ATT just raised my internet rate again, I'm so ready to kick them to the curb if this is workable.

"Asus AC68R and TTL changed as a fail-over WAN 2" is this easy to do?
I'm using Firewalla Gold SE as router/firewall. I set WAN2 from their app to one of the ethernet ports. I use my old router AC68R with TTL mod connected to G4AR connected on WAN.

I was able to add $10 plans in store without activation fee or new SIM fees (I had one existing TI line and maybe grandfathered in?). No one on the phone, chat, or Tforce would do it. This old plan does not qualify for any free tablet deals. I walked out with 2 new sims and did not need the devices in hand. It is the same $10 TI plan and after adding I was able to call business support to get HDPASS added to the new lines. My account does not say HDPASS anywhere (that I could find), however speed tests on fast.com show speed increased from 1.7 to ~6.0 Mbps for video throttle. VPN removes throttle completely.

Also updated wiki's device list. Tested with GL.iNet X3000 (using tablet IMEI and TTL fixes built in) and M3000B (no mod) hotspot/routers. Both get full 5G UC. The GL-X3000 has best performance of everything tested in terms of signal reception, speed, and runs much cooler. The Inseego M3000B of course is more portable and doesn't have the external antenna ports.
How / where did you get the M3000B? How much? Thanks...

eBay, used, $125. Seller said it was locked to Tmo, and the power on screen shows a Tmo logo. If you don't need portability the Spitz from Gl.iNet works much better and can do a lot more for tuning you cell connection.

Can you confirm the GL.iNet GL-X3000 plug and play? I'm a noob to these configurations, so I want to simplest solution if possible.

If you can set up a regular home router you can do it. The Glinet is nice because it has web menus that allow you to change the IMEI and TLL as desired. I think it is the closest to an out of the box setup you will find. Other options require some hacks or AT Commands. Their email support is decent and the documentation on the website helpful. I think the built-in IMEI will work, but I didn't want to risk it so I changed it to another 5G tablet that was not connected to cellular.

Have sim installed on phone. Have HDPass. Opened Fast.com app. Started at around 8MBps and slowed after a few secs to 4.9 Mbps. Opened Youtube TV app and launched a video. Checked streaming and was at 480p though I was able to select 720 and 1080 from the YTV settings

Is this normal and is HDPass working as it should?

From what I was told when my Parents consumer account didn't have HD video enabled, but plan included it. It would buffer at anything higher then 480p. Once I enabled HD Video on their account, it's didn't buffer at all anymore!

Yep this is the behavior. Without HDpass you would be seeing less than about 1.7. If you want higher quality you will need a VPN.

I think we are in the same boat. T-mobile is now scanning hard for these TTLs and throttling where they can. m2000 has TTL modded, but when OpenVPN is configured, it doesn't seem to use TTL mod and T-mobile slows it down. I think now only option is 2 device setup, T-Mobile device like KVD21/m2000/or phone, connected to TTL modified router like Cudy or GL-inet. I tried using TTL mod in 1 device (GL-Inet Mudi/Puli they have 4g LTE chip + router), but they get throttled when VPN is used. I think VPN is messing with TTL unless exclusively used behind a modded router. It might have something to do with data getting cleanly sent to T-mobile with TTL of 65.
Is it ok to use the m2000 + GL-inet router (change TTL) to hide hotspot data?

No. M2000 needs to be modded.
