Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it

Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

If you already have a $10 line on your account, call 844-211-5308 and ask them to add another of the same. That's what I was able to do about 2 months ago without any issues. However, they could not add HDVPASS0 for some reason. But as others have mentioned, T-Mobile Business on Twitter/X added it with no problem.

If you're just looking to have a hotspot for the car, the Inseego M2100 is decent, though it doesn't have all of the 5G bands. But it's probably a reasonable option given its size, portability, and relatively cheap price. Don't get the M2000 though, I don't think that works at all.

I don't know much about the speed cap with HDVPASS0 other than what you already stated.
How about Inseego M3000 or M3100? Do they need to be rooted to use unlimited data instead of hotspot?

I'm not 100% sure. The wiki says it works out of the box but doesn't say if it's unlimited or hotspot. I assume they mean that it's unlimited but don't quote me on that.

It works out of the box but it will count against your hotspot data. Needs to be modded IMEI/TTL for on device usage

Hi, I have free T-Mobile voice line to use with modded T9 Franklin hotspot for unlimited. Its only 4G. I want to move up to 5G. Which 5G hotspot can do this easily and price reasonable?

Finding M3000 on ebay and then buying a remote unlocking/IMEI/TTL service for ~$100 probably. I'm not sure if that will work with a voice line however. I use it with this tablet line

Can business account log in to t-mobile app on iphone or android? I would like to check the real time usage of hotspot data? Besides, the app on iphone doesn't take business phone or text number? I have a prepaid personal number but don't want to use it.

Want to let you know that it is still possible to get the old price but you have to find a nice t-mo manager. I was talking/working with one manager at Costco's kiosk and signed up 2 new lines with "samsung a9+ on us" promo. I was expected to pay $30 for 2 lines and he showed me 2 lines for $30 on the sign up screen. unfortunately I didn't read closely and he gave me wrong plan (he gave me business tablet with 5GB for $20 with 2nd line 50% off). After a few days when I realized the mix up, I went back and talked to him. I said the one he gave me is wrong and I want to show him which one I want. he pulled up his tablet and showed a list of options to choose. he clicked "more" so additional plan options show up. he scrolled 2 pages(I believe) and the "magenta business tablet (Promo)" showed up. I told him that one and he selected and retro activated from current billing cycle instead of next one. After I arrived home, I was able to see my old plan has changed to the one i wanted. I also saw the plan charged me $10 for each line. However, due to change of plan, i might not get the samsung a9+ promo/costco $25 cash card even though he said it still showed I'll get credit every month for the payment. We will see what's gonna happen next month. He also converted 2 of my lines from old MI30TI to the same tablet plan. If I lose the a9+ credit, I'll just cancel those 2 lines. i dont really need a tablet if i have to pay it.

So if you don't mind some headache and have spare plans to try to convert, go talk to them and see what they can do for you. Good luck.

Is there any 5G hotsot device that does not need IMEI/ TTL to be modded so that it doesn't count as a hotspot data?

Just wanted to mention another option. A few years ago I was using three Asus RT-AC68 with AiMesh, but the signal kept dropping so I bought an Netgear Orbi mesh router and didn't have any WiFi issues after that. However, I liked the Asus Merlin UI and customizations, so I ended up setting the Orbi in access point mode for just the WiFi and disabled the WiFi on the Asus. Has been working great since then.

I'm currently testing out OPNSense on a SFF pc with a 4 port NIC card. I like it so far for the multi WAN and failover features, but the only issue I'm running into is changing the TTL doesn't seem to hide the hotspot usage. Both OPNSense and pfSense have a min TTL option. In OPNSense you can change this from the UI. I tried values from 65 thru 69 and they they all show up as hotspot data when connected directly to the KVD21. So I'm currently still using the Asus RT-AC68 as a intermediary. I also tested OpenWRT on the SFF pc and was able to set the TTL to 66 and it successfully hid the hotspot usage.
Hello, sorry to bring this old thread up but have you figured out the TTL setting in OPNsense? If it works, I'm going to go that route. Thank you.

No, I never got the TTL to hide the hotspot with OPNSense. I ended up buying a 5G to 2.5Gbps Ethernet(RJ45) board with a RM520N-GL like this one for about $237 with a fan:
https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32...97646.html

I followed these instructions to change the TTL
https://github.com/natecarlson/qu...tion-notes

This allows me to use whatever router I want such as OPNSense and keep the 5G modem separate.

Thank you for the information! That's an interesting setup. I'm currently using the KVD21 and Asus AC68 without any issues, but I wanted to try a DIY router using my mini PC. I'll probably stick with my current setup for now. Thanks again!

You won't be able to update the TTL with the factory firmware. I know that with OpenWrt you can update the TTL, though I haven't tried installing OpenWrt on the Linksys LN1301 as it's still in development. For newer versions of OpenWrt (22.03 and higher I believe), you'll need to modify the nftables instead of the using the iptables. Most of the commands in this thread are updating iptables on routers such as the Asus RT-AC68.
