That pickup offer is targeted /YMMV . It won't work for everyone but it sure doesn't hurt to try.

Same. I think they want me to ship it and appraise it first. I have a 2013 going for $25, which is worth it, but I don't want the sale to end. I'm going to chat with them to see if there's a way around this.

I suspect it's because this may have been linked to your account. Amazon had no record of my device (even thought I do 1 click purchases to my Kindle all the time)

Anyways, the agent told me to place the order now and they will do the price adjustment once I get the code.

I also just saw a deal for $8 when adding $100 to your gift card balance. Given Amazon gives a 2 year warranty on this, it seemed like a no-brainer to go this route.
