I'm conflicted. I do want to purchase this, but I may wait.

If you purchase now, you get 4 of the films in 4K, and those 4 will port to MA in 4K.

Saboteur / Shadow of a Doubt / The Trouble with Harry / Marnie / Family Plot should upgrade to 4K in iTunes around May or so, when the 2nd Alfred Hitchcock collection is released on 4K disc ... but they will not update to 4K in MA if you already own them.

If I wait to purchase until after the upgrade, then the additional 5 movies (9 in total) will port to MA in 4K. The risk is that it doesn't hit this price point again.

Owned some of these already, but added 10 to my collection. Got 5,000 Universal All-Access Rewards points [myuniversalrewards.com], so that's equal to another 5 free movies. Not a bad deal overall! Thanks OP!

That isn't true though, plenty of movies is the old days weren't slow. Hitchcock wise, Shadow of a Doubt is intense, and my favorite by him.

Rear Window is more claustrophobic, it is almost a stage production. My complaint on Hitchcock is the endings can be a bit anti-climatic, like The Wrong Man, or he tries to get a little too clever with presentation, How to Catch a Thief. But overall, he is gold standard in film making.

And this deal is ridiculously good. But why is the deal rated 3.5 of 5 stars?

As for the lower rating...read the reviews. Most low ratings were due to the collection not being "complete"...that is no movies such as North by Northwest. But the collection IS complete for Universal only films.

Argh, I forgot to link to my myuniversal account before purchasing. Hopefully I can find a method to account for these 14 brand new purchases over there. They have some decent freebies over there here and there.

Many modern viewers want Surprise. Rear Window is all about Suspense. Two different things.

I've always wondered why "North By Northwest" is never/rarely included in these bigger movie collections. Anyone know? I'm sure it's a licensing issue, I just don't get it.
