Shipped from Amazon UK, but on the US site. Seems like a pretty solid price, especially for metric. Seems it's usually standard stuff on sale

Wera makes pretty nice stuff. However even at this price, this particular set seems pricey for what you're getting. $100 is essentially getting you a 3/8" ratchet, a wobble extension, a normal extension, a 1/4" hex bit adapter, 9 sockets (8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 13mm, 15mm, 16mm, 17mm, 18mm and 19mm) and 16 tiny 1/4" hex drive screwdriver bits.

I don't normally hate on tool deals without showing a better equivalent deal to be had, but in the case of this Wera set there really aren't any equivalents . Wera is a German tool company, yet this particular set is mostly made in the Czech Republic, with the exception being the sockets, which are made in Taiwan. It's just hard to pay a German premium price for non German tools. I love almost all my Taiwanese made sockets and hand tools, so the made in Taiwan sockets don't bother me at all, but you can buy other quality Taiwan made sockets for much cheaper. And I know nothing about the long term quality of Czech made ratchets, extensions, and 1/4" hex bits.

I'm just throwing this Tekton, Taiwanese made socket set out there as a comparison because it's $12 cheaper. It's a much more extensive socket set with a lifetime warranty. It has no size skips, includes short and deepwell sockets and standard and metric sizes. With the extra $12 go buy yourself any chinese made 1/4" hex bit screwdriver kit.
This set is excellent if you need a good quality compact set to throw in a bag for work. For that, they are amazing.

If you don't need the compact size (and these are about the smallest you can get with what is in them), there are more economical choices.
The sockets are Taiwanese, the rest is from Czechia. All are high quality.

This set was clearly not intended for the Japanese brand vehicle market. If you need a 14mm for what it is that you work on, you'll have to remove one of the other sizes that you don't need and replace it with a 14mm.

I have the Zyklop 3/8" SAE kraftform ratchet hardcase set, and couldn't be more impressed with the build quality and versatility. I'd been contemplating this exact set, not only for the metric sockets, but also for the switchable ratchet, which is all metal and a little simpler and more traditional than the kraftform handle ("speed ratchet" version that I have.

Anyway, good set, and better price than I've ever seen on my usual German tool sellers.

All Wera tools are engineered in Germany, but the ones I own so far were all made in the Czech Republic. Very impressed.

Looks to be sockets selected for DIN standard. I RARELY used a 14mm socket until I got a Japanese car.

Thanks for breaking this down! Was looking hard at this deal, until I saw Taiwanese sockets and no 14mm. Not at this price point. Repped!
